Very pleasant experience, especially in conversing issues with the office staff. The packaging and shipping charges were surprisingly higher than expected, but they expediency with which I got the item made up for it.

It would seem there is no good reason to put in an advance Maximum Bid online on Proxibid, because the auctioneer during the live auction gives "ties" to the on-site bidder. Ridiculousness.

I am so thankful that I found Poulin's Auction service. I was unsure if my item had any value at all. They took the time to review, give an estimate and offer to include the item in their next auction. They made each step in the consignment process so easy and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. Their professionalism, knowledge and customer service is impeccable.

Placed a bid on live auctioneers and I was the only bid. The bid said it was sent and item sold for the amount I bid, however when I called to confirm I won the item, I was told that someone else won that item. Oh really, so if I was the only online bid how did someone else get it?? I refuse to participate in any of your future auctions because of this. It recorded my bid however you failed to honor it. Poor business!

Poulin's auction offers the discerning collector of arms and armor a wide variety of interesting and often rare pieces. Poulin's stands behind their descriptions allowing the buyer who has not personally examined a lot to bid with a higher degree of confidence than with many other houses. Shipping in house is always a big plus. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I could not be more impressed with the professional, attention-to -every minute detail, deeply caring way that Poulin's reps handled every step of our transaction. The first person I reached out to was John Sexton and he always responded to all of my many questions, even when sometimes months went by before I would start re-considering selling my precious deceased husband's treasure, and surprisingly John would graciously answer me each time, copying Katya Tilton. I learned quickly that Katya was excellent and very knowledge on the process. She always responded with good information. A delightful person who I enjoyed interacting with. Once we had finalized the agreement, I was delighted when and Andy Ireland drove up the hill, right on time, all the way from Maine to my home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Andy made the grueling process of getting a 900 lb cannon barrel into his trailer body with confident precision. He knew exactly how to wrench that heavy artifact up into the trailer body and with skill he secured that barrel 'six ways to Sunday' assured that it wasn't going to move for the many hours drive back to Maine. When he was finished he even took a few minutes to talk about growing up in Northern Virginia, and we talked about the importance of passing on our history to the next generation. I had been so anxious about the sad task of letting go of something my husband felt was an important piece of American history but after interacting with John, Katya and Andy I had and still have a peace I made the right decision. I also cannot forget to mention the amazing layout in Poulin's exquisite catalog/s, which was pure perfection. They could well have made the writeup short n sweet, but the details printed were moving. I am sending to John an extra 'thank you' for allowing so much space to capture the details so perfectly. It was obvious Poulin did everything possible to advertise this artifact factually and precisely. No one could ask for more.
I live hours away but someday I'd like to see the Poulin auctioneers in action. I am sure I'd be just as impressed with their professional, caring expertise! Godspeed John Sexton, Katya Tilton and Andy Ireland, and blessings galore to all of you at Poulin. May your success continue well into the next century. I mean that with all my heart. My first experience selling through an auction house like Poulins. My old family heirloom was thoroughly researched (thank you R.Wood) and beautifully documented and photographed in Poulin's catelogue. The end result was a sale that exceeded my hopes and expectations! Communication throughout the process was excellent and Ben made sure that I understood the process from beginning to end. Highest recommendation for professionalism and results achieved.

I have done a lot of auctions, bought some guns from all over the United States these folks are some of the nicest people to work with, very informative, their packaging is top notch, there was no way a mark could have gotten put on the gun with the packaging they did,
They will keep you posted on your lot all the way through your getting it

Consigned and purchased thousands of dollars with poulins, they sent my purchases to South Carolina and my checks to Maine couldn't take the time to cross check to make sure what they were sending to whom!! When I called to ask about the issue I was hung up on several times, then when I finally got through they were rude and condescending, then I was told I could no longer bid with them!! You can't make this up!! Buyers beware look at the reviews, sellers beware read the reviews, Not the place to do business and they do not care if you consign or buy from them, they act like they are doing you the favor and the customer is NOT right in any way shape or form.....
