I walked in this shop at the end of meandering down Ellsworth’s main street and I was pretty disappointed. I went in for more of the “art” part of the “rock and art” title and other than some copied prints in the back there wasn’t much art. All of the pots in the front of the shop still had the “made in china” stickers on the bottom and it kinda took the shop local feeling out of things. Also the person behind the desk was on their phone the whole time I walked around and didn’t even greet me when I came in. Positives of this shop: they had a huge selection of clever greeting cards and if you’re in it for crystals then there are pretty of options here.

My family and I stopped in for the first and LAST time on Sunday. We were in absolute awe of all the beautiful crystals, gems and other incredible items. My daughter and I picked out some beautiful pieces and happily headed to the register. Near the end of our transaction my daughter noticed the rings on the counter. She picked one up and showed it to me, then her father. My card was still being processed and the two women behind the counter exchanged words about my daughter and the ring. As my transaction finished the woman addressed my daughter questioning if she planned on buying the ring or putting it back. She put it back (as she planned to the entire time) and we left the store. The magic and excitement we felt while shopping was gone, my child sobbed at the thought that someone would think she would steal, and my insides boiled. The fact that the sales associate felt it appropriate to address a child in such a manner, is appalling and tells me that my money would be better spent ANYWHERE but there.

Very nice little shop for local art, minerals, semi-precious stones, fossils, and other specimen. Reasonably priced for a shop of its kind in this area. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about product.
