Wouldn't bring my lawnmower to this place. For an oil change..not very fond of places that say they will do a job then call the next day after you've got the vehicle there and say they won't do it cause it's a rear wheel bearing which by the way was explained when they claimed they could do it. So we had it done at a place that when they say they can do it they do it..

My family has been coming to Autoworks for the last several years, and their work is always top-notch. While I prefer to do the small stuff myself, I'm not equipped for heavy repairs, so I come here. Their pricing is fair and sensible where almost everywhere else I go seems to try and gouge me for everything I have.
My little Nissan wouldn't be chugging along without your help, thank you for all the work and effort :)

We were travelling through the area and had an almost disaster, our previous mechanic didn’t replace the wheel nuts properly and the tire almost came off. Auto works replaced 6 wheel and retorqued all of them, when we tried to pay they told us don’t worry about WOW!!!. I’m a serving member of the Canadian army and I’ll tell you every dollar counts thank you thank you!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I brought my car in for a new alternator. The owner knew I was taking the car to New York the next day. We stopped in Lewiston and the car started making a squealing noise which kept getting louder. We stopped at VIP and when they opened the hood the bolt holding the alternator was unscrewed. We waited 2 hours for them to fit the car in. When they examined it more closely it was clear that the threads on the alternator were stripped when they installed the alternator. Autoworks would have known this when they let us drive off in the car. The alternator was ruined and we had to wait another 3 hours and pay another $500 to get a new alternator. Autoworks failed to answer my text asking for a refund so I have paid for the alternator twice. Do NOT do business with this company. What they did was not only negligent but dangerous.

My truck burned out a wheel bearing on a trip from VA to Machiasport and had to be towed that night to the nearest auto shop, which happens to be RJM Autoworks. Early the next morning I told the owner my problem and asked for help. They took me in right away and started work. The bearing had heat welded itself to the spindle and hub and had to be torched off. One of the parts isn't made anymore and was only available from a junk yard in about a week, which I didn't have. The mechanics built the spindle back up and ground it down into shape and did the same and re-threaded the spindle. Not a guaranteed fix, but one that would hopefully last long enough. The "temp" fix got me to Machiasport and back to VA, over 800 miles where I could get a long-term fix done. These guys are awesome! They do great work at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

I live in NY. I was on a trip with my parents, in a rental car, on our way up through Maine to PEI when the car popped a check engine light. In panic, and not knowing where to go, I pulled into Autoworks and asked if they had a code reader to read what the code was on the rental car causing the light. Not only did they immediately take me in, read the code (it was low engine oil), and top me off, they insisted I stop back on my way back through to check the oil level, make sure we were still safe to continue our travels, and give us general peace of mind. I've always loved Maine. We've come up almost every year for vacation. But this, this experience, encapsulates the Maine way of life, the Maine hospitality, and the kindness that's just so ingrained in the way of life up there. I am grateful. I may never end up at the shop again, but the integrity they showed and the help they offered in my time of need makes me not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else that may be in the area. Thank you. Seriously.
