Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop is a non-profit, volunteer-run shop offering a wide selection of books, music CDs, movies on DVD and VHS, audiobooks, and puzzles. All items are donated and all proceeds directly support the programs of Skidompha Library. It is located in Damariscotta, tucked in behind another building by the river, and boasts probably the best view in town. Visitors find a great selection of really reasonably priced books, with really great titles and treasures. The shop is well-organized and full of books, puzzles, and DVDs. It is quite lovely, with little reading areas carved out like a small library, including nooks with binoculars to look at the water and a drawing easel by the window. The staff are kind, super friendly, and friendly. It is a perfect used book store and a great find, providing a win-win for the community.
What a blessing to our community. This is just the perfect little bookstore. Open 7 days a week so you can drop by anytime. Prices are outstanding and the feeling of visiting an old friend priceless. You can sit back catch up with neighbors of meet folks visiting. Beautiful views of the river too.
