So glad to have adopted my 2nd cat from HART. It is a wonderful facility for cats until they get their forever home. We will be celebrating Adley's 3rd birthday tomorrow (her 1st in her forever home). She is such a lovebug & has made my life so muchhappier since my previous cat passed away in August.

Such a tremendous facility. The love for cats is really impressive. We just adopted a 2 year old Cat. She is doing great loving her new home.
HART of Maine is a NO KILL shelter and adoption center for cats - a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation licensed by the State of Maine. We are a member of the American Humane Association, the American Partnership for Pets and the New England Federation of Humane Societies.
HART's staff is 99% volunteer who, together with our Operations Director & Medical Manager, are dedicated to the well being of the cats under our care. We care for pets that would otherwise be out on the street, assuring their safety, health, and comfort.
Our shelter building was constructed in 2004. It was custom designed for cat sheltering and offers our residents an open environment. All of our animals receive lots of love and attention, as well as expert veterinary care.
