Dr Toothaker is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He always has time for my pups. Appointments usually can be booked within a week. Staff is friendly and courteous.

The vet I was going to wasn't available and my cat required surgery for a hematoma on his ear. Dr. Toothaker and his staff have been great and did not have to wait.

Called for an appointment this morning and they hooked me up! All the ladies are WONDERFUL! And Dr Toothacker…I can’t say enough good about him. He calls my boy Sir Charles ❤️! He is so kind and reassuring. He has been Charlie’s vet for all his 13 years. At the end of his appointment, he held my guys face and said …you picked the right home❤️❤️❤️

I've been with these guys for years! they have gotten me through several emergencies, my cat was hit by a car last year, and broke her tail and pelvis, and dr toothaker and shelly were so good to us!! I also take my coon cat there for grooming! I can typically always get an appt within 24 hours. these guys have always gone above and beyond for my fur children, I would absolutely recommend them!

These folks were great! We were visiting from CA and our dog got an ear infection. None of the other area's vets could fit us I. For weeks, but these guys did! The vet was friendly and quick, the staff were helpful, and the pricing was very reasonable. Thank you so much!

We had an unfortunate illness with our dog recently. I took him to the Small Animal Clinic, and the outstanding staff there did everything that they could to help him. Unfortunately, all of our efforts did not have a good outcome. With that being said, the compassion, understanding and thoughtfulness was above and beyond our expectations! I highly recommend the Small Animal Clinic and their staff!

Very grateful to find this clinic for our dog while visiting. Great Doctors and staff. Friendly, welcoming and reasonable. Wish we lived closer to have these doctors for our pet all the time. Definitely recommend this clinic.

The drug addict they have working in the boarding area left my dog laying in her own urine ........I showed up a day early from vacation to pick up our golden retriever and she explained I wasn't SUPPOSE to be there until the next day..... what was the big deal?? The big deal was she left our poor Emma dog laying in her own urine so that when she brought her to the lobby, she was yellow and dripping from her belly and legs. They didn't have time to wash her off so we wouldn't know what they were doing. I also had a cat put down there.... I was not allowed to go with her and they handed her to me out the back door in a garbage bag still twitching... when I provided a large airtight container with a fuzzy blanket to lay her in.

Every pet owners worst nightmare.... you're away on vacation with your dogs and one of them is up all night literally yelping in pain and you have no idea why. Being 4 1/2 hours away from home, going to our vet was not an option so we called around to several vets. The response was the same from all of them, "did you try to call xyz vet? We're understaffed and overbooked". Ugh!!! When I called Small Animal Clinic and explained our situation, I got "we're understaffed and won't be able to take you until 11:00, I'm sorry". Apologizing for giving us an appointment that we couldn't get anywhere else! We'll take it! Now my biggest concern was being taken for a ride by some vet who knows we're in a vulnerable situation. Would they perform needless expensive tests and charge us outrageous fees? NOT THE CASE!!!! Dr. Toothaker knew immediately what was wrong with our dog before he even examined her. He said the symptoms sounded like a slipped disk which is common with this breed (Bichon). He had me put her on the table to exam her and was able to pinpoint that the slipped disk was in her neck. He examined her to ensure nothing else was wrong. He prescribed prednisone and gave us something for her pain if she needed it. We were literally in and out of the office within 30 minutes and we didn't have to take out a loan to pay the bill.... it was $75. Started our pup on the prednisone right away and by the same evening she was back to her playful, loving self. If you find yourself in the same situation this is DEFINITELY the place to bring your fur babies!

Super nice staff and vet. We were visiting Acadia Ntl Park when our dog got an eye infection. The staff at our campground recommended Dr. Toothacre. The staff got us in that day - their last appt of the day. We got lost and were a little late but they were so nice when I called and asked for directions. The price he charged was the same as what my vet at home charges. I appreciated that they didn't charge extra for squeezing us in or not being regular patients. If I lived in the area, I would be happy to visit the Small Animal Clinic for my dog's regular vet care.
