The Woman that answered the phone was extremely rude and would not help me with my USPS trouble.

Please, someone, get Katie, the manager here, the mental health intervention she apparently needs. She treats the public with disdain and contempt and seems always on the verge of ... some kind of breakdown. She needs to be removed from her position and get help. In the meantime, use UPS or FedX if you want competent service.

I have been critical in past reviews but today we had really good service and I feel I have to reassess my previous opinion. A package was late arriving because it was lost at UPS. Tracking information was very confusing. My husband took the half-dozen conflicting tracker messages into the post office and a very smart and patient clerk investigated, finding that it had just been delivered to the post office about half an hour earlier. Along with 100 other packages it was expected at our house tomorrow but apparently our inquiry spurred some hunting and the package arrived at our house about 2 hours later!

Not a full post office. Only will take cash, and can not provide full service like international stamps.

Sadly, I will no longer be using the USPS for any shipping. I really did want to support them. This is the second time a package I have sent has been lost in the mail. Even after filing a claim (the first time) the items were never found. (but they didn't send my label back to me! ) This time it was a book written by my grandfather before he died. There was only one. The cashier who told me that I could send it at the "media rate" never explained that the postage didn't include insurance coverage. My daughter received an empty box in the mail saying, sorry for the damage. I am so pissed. And the cashier at the Brunswick office didn't seem to care at all. I will not be returning.

Great people, however, not a full operating post office as advertised. Only authorized to drop items off here, no weight or other functions.

The people at the Brunswick Maine post office are extremely nice and helpful. I am SO glad to be able to talk to a live person.

Despite repeated calls, mailbox and/or mail stuffed in it left open to be rained on. Not impressed with response I got from the supervisor.

Constantly messing up deliveries to my apartment, ranging from just leaving the package at a random neighbor's house, despite the correct address clearly printed & visible, to forgetting to leave the parcel key for our mailbox. Both times the "tracking" confirmed a successful delivery. While trying to find these packages, thinking they may have been stolen, I spent 2 hours calling the post office & apparently they were "too busy to answer the phone". It rang endlessly & I never was able to reach anyone. I went to the office the next day where a rude customer service woman literally cut me off every single time I attempted to speak, sometimes even just to rudely ask me a question that, had I been able to finish a single sentence, would have been answered without her prompting. While I'm Mid sentence, she walks away & goes out back leaving me there to wonder what the hell is going on. She finally returns, has me write down my name & number so that when the package is ACTUALLY delivered, they can call me...keep in mind, their tracking website had already confirmed delivery the previous day. Finally, I told her to let me finish my sentence, & she curtly says, "alright...". I ask her what happened to the package, why was it marked as confirmed delivered if they need their mail person to call me when it has been delivered today. She told me that the delivery driver forgot to leave the key for the parcel box, that the package had been delivered but we couldn't gain access to the box in which it had been placed. Why would she omit this information? Why didn't she apologize for all the inconvenience & stress this BS has caused? Why does she work at a job in which she is so obviously miserable? The USPS is falling apart at the seams yet people like this still continue to receive excellent pay & benefits. Try some customer service training, or at the very least, some manners. Being polite goes a long way when it comes to making MANY, many mistakes. The customer will reflect the attitude of the employee in these kinds of exchanges. Terrible post office.
