This review is long overdue. We recently relocated from Bridgton Maine to Ocala Florida. We put our house on the market this past November and sold early January 2024. Not an ideal time of year. This was the 4th house we’ve sold and it was the best experience we ever had. Bernadette McIver is the best realtor we ever worked with. Her work ethic is amazing. Attention to detail on point. The personal experience - amazing. She listened, and delivered! She interacted with the realtor in Florida and helped make this transition seamless. We highly recommend Bernadette and / or On The Lakes Realty if you intend to do anything real estate. Thank you Bernadette!!

Our experience with The Lakes Real Estate was wonderful for many reasons. Our agent, Bernadette McIver made our experience pleasant, and her style was calm, helpful, and professional. She is from Bridgton, and knows the area well. We were treated like family when it came to preparing our home for sale. This was a difficult decision for us because we were getting ready to sell the home that we really loved. It was time for us to move on to new experiences, and Bernadette knew this was a difficult decision for us. She handled the sale process with care, and never pressured us to do anything. She guided us along the way, provided staging, and took very representative photos of our home for the listing. The advice Bernadette provided us proved to be highly effective, and our home sold quickly. We are certain the attraction of the home could not have been any better without Bernadette's help. Kristina was our real estate agent for our recent purchase of a waterfront property in Bridgton. It was a nice experience working with Kristina, she was always very response via text, email or phone calls, one time interrupting her weekend away with her family to respond to questions we had. She also got us in short notice to view another property close by to one we purchased. We almost didn't go through with the purchase of this property because of several issues we encountered but Kristina worked with us and the sellers to resolve these items. We would highly recommend using Kristina as your agent for your next property viewings and purchase!! We definitely will be contacting her if we're in the market again :)

If you are looking to sell or buy a home in the Lakes Region, Mick provides a 5 star service. He got top dollar and a quick sale of our home, just what I was hoping for. He was reassuring when I had doubts and knew how to navigate the process with professionalism and expertise which instilled a feeling of confidence. Mick was available day and night to answer questions and was very prompt with his responses. He went above and beyond to find a rental for us to live in when waiting for the right property to purchase after the sale of our house and now Mick is helping us to purchase our dream home. What a gem we found in Shirley McIver!We had an amazing experience using Shirley as our buying agent during the year-plus search for a second home in Bridgton and the surrounding lakes region of western Maine. Shirley has a wealth of knowledge and resources about the area, which was extremely helpful in finding and researching potential properties. Her connections with several local people provided excellent leads just before or as they hit the market. She provided us with contacts for surveyors, civil engineers, real estate attorneys, builders, tradesmen, log specialists, home owners and town officials to help us dig deep and investigate properties. On several occasions, she made numerous phone calls on our behalf to get more than the typical information. She never pressured us and always encouraged us to do due diligence before making an offer despite a crazy real estate market.Shirley was patient and responsive, listening to many long conversations as we tried to discern the best scenario for us - be it a lakefront home, waterfront land, mountaintop lot, community lake living and even a barn restoration. Her knowledge and connections in the area were invaluable as we worked through each possibility. We always felt Shirley was truely vested in helping us find our dream place. She was genuine, kind and always positive saying "Things work out for a reason". We came to appreciate Shirley's strength as our advocate making the tough phone calls to pressure others to give us the answers we were seeking, negotiating and ultimately finalizing the deal. The journey with Shirley as our agent ended just as she had said all along "Things work out for a reason" - We bought the lakefront log cabin we rented and fell in love with a few summers ago. Shirley was the rental agent for the cabin and how we first met her. Using Shirley as our buying agent was truly like finding a diamond in the rough - we had no idea of the value of having Shirley as our agent as our journey began. We continue to be friends and use her resourcefulness for everything from the best hills to sled on to service companies in the area. We highly recommend Shirley McIver for selling or buying a property in the Bridgton and lakes region area. The Agent I worked with was Kristina Reimers at The Lakes Real Estate . I was purchasing from out of state which made it challenging to begin with. Kristina had no problem with virtual showings and went to all houses I was interested in even if the house was far from her office. Never pressured me into picking a certain house and I felt she always had my best interests first. Very patient and knowledgeable and overall helpful. I will be using her for my real estate needs in Maine and for a great experience , I would recommend using Kristina .

Any agent can sell a house, but when it comes to getting absolute top dollar, selling quickly, and having a stress-free listing, Bernadette is the best of the best. It is clear that with the continued success of her business and satisfaction of her clients, she is doing everything right. When it came time to sell our first house, Bernadette was extremely kind, responsive and professional with us during during the process. She gave us professional tips on staging and finishing touches for showings and we were able to sell our house in only 3 days for over our asking price. We want to thank Bernadette and her team for being so hard-working and respectful during the whole process, we feel as though we have gained a good friend. I cannot say enough about how phenomenal an experience my husband and I had with Bernadette. We worked with her on selling our home, and buying a piece of property. When we decided to list our home, she was right on top of scheduling the photographer, and being very clear on what we could expect from the process. Within HOURS of listing our home, we had 4 showings scheduled for the same day, and our house was under contract the following day. It was a total whirlwind, and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to help us. Her communication and responsiveness is unparalleled, and within seconds of meeting her, you know that she truly cares about her clients, and works for you as if she were working for herself.When we were going through the process of buying our land, we hit roadblock after roadblock. Mick helped my wife and me find a lake front property and he was fantastic to work with. We were looking for a vacation home on Long Lake and had very particular wants.
