As always, Dr. Monk and the staff at Lucerne Veterinary Hospital go above and beyond when it comes to care for my little senior kitty. I have such peace of mind knowing that Mojo will be well-cared for, no matter what ailment may present itself. I love how Dr. Monk is so thorough and detailed when it comes to monitoring, options for different treatments, and the cost transparency of the treatment and care to be provided. I would not go to any other veterinary clinic. Lucerne Veterinary Hospital has earned a patient for life, and deservedly so! Many, many thanks!

When our dog Barbie got quilled by a porcupine Lucerne Vet took her in right away. She was a new patient and we didn’t know what to expect, especially since the procedure was being done under anesthesia. When they noticed I was coming from a bit of a distance they arranged to do it while I waited, which was much appreciated. We were pleased to find the entire staff friendly, efficient and professional, and when I brought Barbie back a week later for her “first appointment,” a yearly physical, she surprisingly wasn’t afraid. Barbie had been treated with such kindness throughout the process of removing the quills that she was happy to go back into the building. It was obvious that the staff had gained her trust from that first experience, and we could not be happier to have found Lucerne Vet. Highly recommend!

We have for many years trusted Lucerne to help keep our fur babies healthy - a hard job with Cavaliers. In emergencies they have managed to fit us, and even my visiting son's dog into their schedule. They are the best!

We love the people at Lucerne Veterinary and have had more than a dozen different vets in about 5 states over the last 25 years. They are the very best -- like an extended family. Health care for our dogs has been excellent from being a puppy to going over the Rainbow Bridge.

Exceptional Care for our beloved fur babies at Lucerne Veterinary Hospital.
While visiting Bar Harbor for the summer, our 16yoa baby girl, who had been diagnosed with bladder cancer in January, told us it was time for her to go. We called several Vet clinics all around and Lucerne Veterinary Hospital was the only one that would agree to see us. From the moment we walked through the doors, it was evident that this establishment is truly dedicated to providing loving care for animals.
The staff at Lucerne Veterinary Hospital are not only skilled professionals but also compassionate individuals who genuinely care about the well-being of every animal that comes through their doors. Dr. Dorr and vet tech, Brie, took the time to listen to our concerns, thoroughly examined Lucy, and explained all treatment options in a clear and concise manner. We made the very, very difficult decision to let Lucy run over the Rainbow bridge.
The entire staff was so accommodating, caring, and let us have all of the time we needed before saying goodbye to our precious little girl. What truly sets Lucerne Veterinary Hospital apart is the personalized attention and care they provide to both pets and their owners. They go above and beyond to make sure that both the pet and the pet owner feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire treatment process.
Four days later, we took our remaining fur baby in for a checkup and saw Dr. Davis. She was equally as caring, compassionate, and made us feel so at ease while taking such great care of our little boy, Riley.
We cannot recommend Lucerne Veterinary Hospital highly enough. Your pets will thank you, and you will be grateful for the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are in excellent hands.

We have taken our pets to the Lucerne Veterinary Hospital since 2009. The staff and doctors have always been professional, caring and have given our pets excellent care. Thank you for taking such good care of our goldens, Zara and Tinkerbelle, before they passed away; and for providing care for our cat, Willow. I highly recommend the Lucerne Veterinary Hospital for all your pet care needs.

We were very pleased with how our St. Bernard was cared for. We were traveling from Michigan and had an emergency come up and they were kind enough to take our girl in. They treated us as if we were long time clients. We were very grateful for their loving care.

To Dr. Van Gorder, Trish, Rebecca and the others at Lucerne who helped my husband and I yesterday when we faced a horrible, unexpected event with our little dog Shamus I say thank you and bless you for being caring, compassionate professionals. You took us in on a moment's notice when we needed it most. You treated us with kindness, grace, efficiency and expertise. We are not even full time clients of your clinic but we plan to be in the future. You helped us when we needed it most. For that, we are forever grateful. Your facility is top notch, your team is A+ and you have a fan in us for as long as we have pets in our home, which I hope is as long as I live.

These people are great with pets. They have been honest with me in all of their assessments and have gone all the way in providing my pets with quality care. Their prices are on the upper limit for me but every cent has been worth it. They have always been financially forthright with me so that no unexpected expenses have hit me. I have been going there since my dogs were puppies and I hope to go there until the day my dogs pass from old age. I like this place because they keep the passive aggressive "politics " out of pet care that you find at so many other clinics.
