We went on a sunny afternoon on Monday, Sep. 9, 2024. It was wonderful. The late summer/early fall flowers were in bloom. There is a lot to see and many pathways. Make sure you take a map with you!
Along with the beautiful plantings, there are interesting pieces of art with interactive activities for young and old. The wooded path was smooth and we weren’t swarmed by bugs.
We were able to see 4 of the 5 trolls. We skipped Gro because it was nearing closing time and we wanted to see as much as we could see of the gardens.
It was well worth the trip.

Beautiful! not to be missed! Flowers, butterflies, even tall trees. Trolls in the park made by a Danish sculptor. You can easily get to the river and you can walk around all day seeing different things. There is a free shuttle service that runs continuously in the park. It is also possible to take a guided tour. There is excellent coffee.

Went with my wife and kids(5, 3, and 3 yrs) today, absolutely the perfect way to close out our summer. Starts with a nice walk through tons of flowers, bridges, water and scenery, and progresses into fun trails with plenty of spots to rest or explore. We spent 3 hours, and didnt even see half of what they have to offer. We will be back to explore more for sure.

Botanical gardens always have a tough time engaging people (and kids) that are not always impressed by latin names and rare shrubbery. Costal main botanical gardens are different, with the impressive troll sculptures, a kids treasure hunt, the kids corner, guided tours, activities and bite sizes paths to walk between the greenery (you can also take a free shuttle throughout the garden). Free parking is available. There is a modern cafeteria where you can cool off and refuel (for a price). Tickets can be bought online, including a reasonably priced family ticket. This place does get sunny during the day so come prepared.

Truly beautiful garden nestled among small lakes and ponds. You can admire flowers and plants of all kinds, including garden vegetables. The route continues into the woods where you can admire the famous trolls and other small sculptures. Inside the garden there is a cafe where you can have a snack. The tour lasts no less than two hours

The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a stunning destination that exceeded our expectations. The beautifully maintained gardens are perfect for a peaceful stroll, with vibrant flowers, tranquil water features, and lush greenery around every corner. One of the highlights for us was the charming Fairy House Village, which is a magical spot filled with tiny, whimsical fairy houses nestled among the trees. It’s a must-see, especially if you’re visiting with kids or just love a touch of fantasy in your garden walk.

Too many good things to do with young kids. We had so much fun playing lobsterman, in the play teahouse, climbing around the treehouse and visiting the trolls. We ran out of energy before we could finish exploring the rest of the garden.
