This is a beautiful store in Boothbay Harbor and the candles are amazing! The owner was present when we were there and he explained the backstory of the business and what sets their candles apart. He couldn't have been any nicer and as a bonus gave us a great itinerary for the day which we followed to a T. We love the candles we purchased and will definitely make this store a must-stop on our future travels.

We absolutely love our Seawicks Candle ! We bought our candle to help support my nephew who attends Boothbay High School! Thank you so much for a wonderful 100% soy candle that smells fantastic!

I recently purchased my first Seawicks candle (Eucalyptus, Ivy, and Sea Salt) after having received the Front Porch Coffee Shop scent as a gift several years ago. I love the fresh, distinct aromas, whether it’s the uplifting, clean scent of eucalyptus or the delicious whiff of fresh-brewed coffee. I literally don’t know where to start in choosing the next scent to try but am excited to see that I will still have an array of invigorating scents to try this winter for the holidays too! I hope someday to make the trip from Pennsylvania to Maine to visit the store in person. It is important to me to support small businesses across the country, and Seawicks is a heavenly-scented way to do so!

We came across Seawicks Candles while shopping at the Freeport LLBean in Maine this past fall. The owner, Michael, was selling candles at the store and we got to chat with him for awhile! He was such a friendly guy and told us all about his healthy clean burning soy candles! We bought and few in the fall and completely fell in love! Now we just ordered a ton more from their summer collection and have fallen even more in love! Not only do they smell DELIGHTFUL, they can also be reused as glasses once burned out! We use our fall candles as cocktail glasses now!

Seawicks is a candle company owned by a couple in Maine who pour their own soy candles! Their flagship store is in Boothbay Harbor, Maine and most recently they opened this location in Freeport. The Freeport shop is located on Bow Street diagonal from J.Crew in a cute little barn type building. There is a wide selection of soy candles ranging in many different scents (the majority are nautical-like scents based off of "coastal Maine"). As my friend and I entered Seawicks, we were pleasantly greeted by the owner who was very friendly and talkative! She made suggestions on candles we may like and also was kind enough to point out the table filled with sale items from the holidays. Most prices range from $15 candle tins to the $24 9 oz. glass candles. The prices are what you would expect to pay for hand made soy candles. Aside from candles, they have a new line of leather items referred to as Maine Dry Goods and a variety of cute hand towels and quote note cards. I ended up purchasing three of the 9 oz jar candles and was super excited to give one as a gift and keep the other 2. My friend bought about 4 candles featuring a Cape Cod map on them and a hand towel. Honestly, the only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because while the service and experience was pleasurable, I got home and lit one of the candles and allowed it to burn for 5+ hours and since it is 100% soy, there was an extreme lack of scent. The glass candles don't come with lids and are just covered with a plastic top so that may contribute to the issue. Overall, if you enjoy soy candles and supporting local Maine businesses, this is a great place to go!!

One of the most beautiful candle shops I know. The smells are delicious and inviting!! It's so worth the stop to see what they have in their shop! And it's right in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. My favorite is the Beach Girl candle~

Far from being overpowering, Seawicks' candles are pleasantly subtle. Smoky Bourbon and Tobacco are favorites in our office. Perfect for the ski house or cabin.
