We loved our stay at The Harbor Towne Inn! We were there celebrating a birthday. Great location right in town - we walked to dinner, went to Garden's Aglow at the Botanical Garden! So much we loved about the inn including private downtown parking on the harbor, great view of the harbor from our room, the spaciousness, art & decor, furniture, bathroom with 2 windows & mini fridge, balcony with seating & stunning view, comfy bed & pillows. The delicious, generous breakfast and Stephanie's hospitality on Sunday morning was beyond expectations! We will definitely be back.Rooms: We loved our room, 3rd story with balcony. Request a higher floor for a better view!Nearby activities: All of Boothbay Harbor steps outside of your door. Shops, docks with seasonal boat charters, restaurants, all right there. Short drives to hikes, beaches, & Botanical Garden.Walkability: Very walkable lots to explore

This inn was such a disappointment! It was my 60th bday and I booked 2 ground level rooms for a Sat. Night stay thinking we would probably stay an extra night. Needless to say, we DID NOT stay the extra night. And I won't be back as the only thing warm and friendly about this place are the other guests!Only thing 5 star about this place is its location. The newly renovated ground floor units are small and cramped. They have a refrig and microwave but no in room coffee maker. The floors seem dirty and are cold, the runner in my room was dirty. The feather pillows have hard security tags on them. The foam pillows are hard. For a queen room, you get 2 bath towels 1 frayed hand and 1 wash..there is no one to call to request more. Seating is a hard chair where cushion does not fit. TV was fine but a pain to work as didn't seem programmed for channels. The bed is hard and creaks. While I am sure the decor was supposed to be "homey", it instead just felt worn. The heat eorks fine. My 32 old daughter walked into her room and immediately came over to mine and said "let's loose the money and find someplace else". The outside patio was undercover and is on the main drive. The wicker furniture again looks worn. There are NO security locks on these ground floor units. Also as the inn keeps the front door locked, there is a flight of outside stairs you need to take to get into the back door of the inn for bkfast. And for those who stay on rooms with a "shared" patio, it is indeed shared by the bkfst traffic. One of the deck tables had a reserved for x room sign. Breakfast was OK. I think it depends on your seating time. Mine was 9am..so I found the fritata cold. The muffin and fruit were very good. The Seating is at the table or take it. Overall hostess was unresponsive and unfriendly. Thus night I had emailed her asking for restaurant recommendations as my bday..no response. Sat morn stopped to make sure she had my reservation for both rooms. After waiting in the rain for the front door to be unlocked, opened 12 inches I am told yes as I stand in the rain and that I will be texted if room ready early..no text..I check in with staff, (again ringing the front doorbell) I am told there are cookies and do I want an 8:30 or 9 bkfst seating. I ask if availability for the following night, staff takes a message. Never hear anything about it. Daughter checks out..no niceties or small talk here. Again. So disappointed in my stay here. Won't be back. Still confused for the 5 star reviews as only thing my experience that was 5 star was location.

Is there a word that is better than AMAZING? That is the word that would cover our stay at Harbour Towne Inn with Stefanie as our host. The room was beautiful, kind service each and every day and a welcome to the area. We enjoyed walking around town, experiencing the local flavor and relaxing at the Inn. We highly recommend a stay at Harbour Towne Inn at ANY time of the year!

I don’t even want to go home. I stayed for my birthday and had an amazing stay. The location is perfect. A short walk to the shops, restaurants and footbridge yet it’s peaceful and quiet where you’re staying. The food was so good. It shows that Stephanie puts thought and time into everything. The rooms are superbly clean. I noticed the thought taken into every little detail, right down to an extra blanket already in the room. Heat, AC, a fridge, a microwave, toiletries. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m already planning my next stay. Thank you so much for helping to make my birthday specialRooms: Absolutely wonderfulNearby activities: Less than a 10 min walk to townSafety: Very safe. We're from Georgia and were looking for a special place to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday. After making reservations for the Cabbage Island Clambake, we needed a place to stay. We wanted a place on the water, within walking distance to all of the town's attractions, shops and restaurants. We didn't just find a place, we found THEE PLACE! More than that, we found a home! In short, we hit a sight-unseen-walk-off-grand-slam-home-run in selecting Harbour Towne Inn on the Waterfront! I knew the instant Stefanie (the Innkeeper) answered the phone to take my reservation (for 8 people) that she was made of the right stuff! Stefanie is special - an absolutely delightful and perfect hostess - gracious, accommodating, friendly, helpful and she's an amazing cook! The views from her inn were stunning - absolutely spectacular, the breakfast was delicious (and filling) and the beds were VERY comfortable! Stefanie made dining recommendations that didn't disappoint and she had an absolutely cheerful and "can-do" attitude in everything she said and did. HTIOTW is a perfect destination whether looking for a romantic weekend, a getaway with friends or a special occasion like ours! If the penthouse suite is available, run, don't walk, to reserve it! Stefanie's warmth, generosity and hospitality sets a mighty high bar! I speak for our entire group when I say that we highly recommend this place! John Harris

Harbour Towne Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to the Boothbay central hub. Outstanding service by all with nothing left undone and plenty of suggestions for a Maine experience. A world-class breakfast that includes many Maine flavors and a full array of delicious dishes. The rooms are comfortable and the deck is delightful. Great all around experience.

We stopped here for a night on the way to Bar Harbor. It is very lovely place. The owner was friendly and upgraded our room to water view and replied all questions we had. She also set up some cookies right after we arrived! The breakfast was delicious. It had some sort of veggie-meat egg casserole dish, roasted potatoes, bowl of fresh fruits, yogurt, granola and warm blueberry muffins! Along with toast, coffee and tea. The room has post cards of beautiful hotel with stamp on it and we were able to hand it over to owner to send it out for us. It is a historical house so if you are a light sleeper I recommend bringing ear plugs. Overall great stay and amazing host!

My husband and I had such a special stay this weekend! The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. When we arrived we didn’t know where to go for dinner and they suggested a great Italian spot. The food and experience were both amazing. After dinner we walked around a bit and found so many cute stores and a great ice cream shop which were all walking distance from the Inn.We headed back to the inn and settled in our quiet cozy room where we had a great night sleep. When we woke up we got to step outside onto the balcony with a stunning water view and enjoy a cup of coffee while we waited for breakfast. We enjoyed a delightful homemade breakfast with frittata, home fries, pastry, yogurt, and fresh fruit. We didn’t what to leave come checkout time! A HUGE thank you to Stephanie for making our first night away from our baby such and enjoyable one! We can’t wait to see you again soon! ?

My husband and I snuck away for the weekend to Boothbay Harbor. It had been 30 yrs since we had last been there. I booked a night here at the Harbour Towne Inn on the Waterfront. Stephanie was legitimately one of the sweetest people I have engaged with. So helpful and her cooking was out of this world. My husband is still talking about the breakfast which is all homemade and fabulous. The Inn is filled with treasures from the past and the views were great. The rooms are well appointed and the location is close enough to downtown but also there is parking behind to ensure you have a spot. All and all we would not hesitate to go back, between the comfort of the bed, the space provided, the incredible breakfast, and the unmatched hospitality. This trip was kicking off our 50th birthday year, we are visiting people or places that have made up our first 50 yrs here and I am so happy that Stephanie is now part of my next 50.
