Very kind and knowledgable staff - we enjoyed our visit. The lighthouse lens was a high point and the stories about past residents of the town.

This small building is packed with tons of local information and displays. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. I could spend hours going thru merchant journals or a quick visit to see the latest displays. Hours are limited check out the website first for open hours.

Very interesting, though small museum of Boothbay history, from prehistorical peoples forward. Also got excellent help from the resident historian who guided us through the well-organized genealogical records and files. What a treasure trove.

Originally founded in 1967, Boothbay Region Historical moved to the Elizabeth F. Reed house in 1984. With a mission to promote interest in and preserve the history of the Boothbay region, we represent Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport. In addition to ongoing exhibits and collections of artifacts, photographs, and historical and genealogical documents, we present a variety of programs of local interest throughout the year.
