Horrible service just switched to another company and Gwi changed me for the next month and wouldn't even do a partial payment refund only a 3 or 4 days into the new payment cycle.

Have had them since I moved to South Portland four years ago with zero downtime even when a friend had an outage with Spectrum during inclement weather. I love that all of the equipment is neatly attached out of the way next to the power panel in the basement too. The installer and office personnel have been courteous and professional.

Not the best speed/connection. When contact/assistance is needed, it is typically a tedious undertaking with occasional lack of professionalism. Really only keep to support local business.

For example, they close at 4:30 pm but state on Google that they close at 5. About four out of five times tech support gives bad advice and does not know shortcuts and workarounds to fix a router or modem. A couple of techs are so arrogant they insist that their knowledge and rigid, limited protocol are greater than the customers' and they tend to be absolutely wrong.

Zero, I would give a zero.First, get with the times. No option other to call and talk to a person that says sorry our systems are slow or offline just to send a refresh signal and you can’t do it via online or by phone. What is this 1998 AOL dial up?Second, this service goes out all the time.I wonder if they also have pigeons carrying messages instead of using snail mail?

The Fiber internet is so much better than cable and super reliable. Their installations are prompt and professional. The prices are very fair and the service is phenomenal. Best internet experience I’ve ever had!

We had them for years and had constant problems. The internet was extremely slow and constantly went out. You couldnt load a 2 minute Youtube video 90% of the time without 5 minutes of buffering, only for the video to keep freezing. They kept telling my parents it was the modem or router. We had several different ones but always had the same problems. It would go out every other day practically and we constantly had to reset the router only for it to work for 2-5 minutes before losing all connections again. I finally convinced my parents to switch to Xfinity. Yes its more expensive, but the service is infinitely better than GWI. I wouldnt recommend this provider to ANYBODY. If you have any problems, you will get the runaround. This whole provider is basically a scam because you cant use the service properly 90% of the time and they overcharge for what you are sold.

My son’s apartment in Orono uses GWI and it is terrible. He loves the apartment but the one complaint is how awful the internet is. Unfortunately the complex contracts with GWI so we can’t get a better service. Stay away from this company. They won’t even let him use his own router and their equipment is the cheapest available. If you like buffering then you’ll like this internet.

I have their fiber service and it is fast and reliable. I pay for 250mbps up/down and average closer to 400mbps. And their customer service is more like calling an Aunt (one you like) as opposed to navigating through a tangled mess of automated menus.

GWI internet service has been reliable for me in Brunswick for over 2 years, at half the price of Xfinity. The speed has been fast enough for me, even streaming TV or movies.

I'm a tech for a different company and have been trying to get my parents to change providers to ANYONE else available. I ran a speed test and my CELLPHONE IS 30X FASTER THAN THE GWI INTERNET. I still have figured how many megabits they've paying for (80+, including home phone) but 0.5 -1.8 MBPS is the best I've gotten everything freezes or doesn't load. they keep telling my parents it's the modem, they've gotten new ones, same result. they like the customer service but the actual product is NOT WORTH IT.

I have had GWI for years in two locations of South Portland. I have never had service down even in the worst of weather, always had the best tech service with both professional and competent assistance. Always answered questions with patience and politeness no matter how d*** the question. I wholeheartedly recommend this company especially if you like good value.

I've been with GWI for well over 13 years now. I like having locally provided service, and their tech department is on of the friendliest and most knowledgeable I've personally. The price is straight forward, fair and carries no hidden fees. They have come to my home location several times to solve issues, always in a timely manner. I don't ever want to go with another provider, so I hope they stay with us in Maine for a good, looooong time! Thank you, GWI!

This is the worst internet for business not only are you in a 3 year contract we disconnected our service to go with a faster service only to find out that they could have offered us faster broadband service but heaven forbid someone would take the time to call and ask us if we wanted to switch over and being a business we needed faster internet service. The bite the hand that feeds them so all I can say is good luck our 3 year us up and we're off to a better thing from someone else. We were waiting for our final update to our our last bill so we could make a final payment and we get a letter from the Thomas agency wrre in collections. I never even heard from anyone so if your thinking about going local don't go here you'll regret it.
