This boutique hotel is just excellent! So many good things to say about them. We were there in mid-October, when Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are packed. This hotel is super close to the national park but away from all the crazy. They do have a shuttle that will take you there and pick you up. We had an island view king that was wonderful. Fantastic view and excellent bedding. The included breakfast is wonderful. The chef also makes cookies for the afternoon that are also very good. They also had a candy bowl always full. We did request a bed on the main floor - I think there is no elevator in the main building so if you have issues with stairs just check when you book. The website does state the room location.
The staff is extremely hospitable and helpful.
We would most definitely stay here again. Really wonderful boutique hotel. We are on a long road trip hitting many places and hotels and this one was a real treat!
Rooms: Super comfortable and the sheets are really comfy. We had an ocean view and the room was so nice.
Nearby activities: Super close to Acadia NP. Downtown Bar Harbor isn’t too far. They have a shuttle if you want an easy in and out.
Safety: Super safe area.
Walkability: There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. The boat tours are also just down the street a bit.
Food and drinks: They provide an excellent breakfast and cookies in the afternoon. There is no restaurant onsite but we saw one a short walk away.
Noteworthy details: Extremely hospitable staff and great chef. Super comfy sheets.

Over Promise - Under Deliver. The hotel is beautiful, the views are stunning, HOWEVER the hotel does not live up to the words of its website. We paid $850 for a one night stay in middle September, weekend night. Website stated small plates and high end specialty cocktails - we arrived to find out there is no food - NOTHING - in the evening and no bartender. We made our own drinks from their bar and ordered pizza delivered. The bedding and decor in the pictures are no where close to the actual accommodations. Towels, Pillows, furniture and decor were well below expectations for the room price. Had we been aware knowing the hotel is out of town, we would have planned better to bring food to the hotel after our long day. The breakfast the next morning was lovely. The staff didn’t have a lot of empathy for their under delivered promises.

Splurged on our trip to Bar Harbor and stayed at the Bayview. It was so nice, cozy, clean and comfortable. The amenities were great, definitely enjoyed using the shuttle service to and from downtown. The view from our room was great and the bed was so comfortable!
Walkability: About a little over a mile walk to downtown Bar Harbor but it does have a shuttle service along with the free town busy that picks up nearby.

This Hotel was an easy 1.5 miles from down town. It was nice to go back away from the crowds at night. Breakfast included was also a huge plus. Ready at 7am so it was easy to have breakfast and head out to hike. We loved the ocean view (which every room has). It was extremely clean and the staff was kind and helpful. It’s easy also to get in and out of and no need to walk 20 minutes just to get to the parking lot like bigger hotels.
Rooms: Rooms are big with beautiful views

The front desk acted like we were a bother, short one word distance answers. Web site brags about vegan chef: we were given a choice of frozen processed food and they actually brought the frozen food packages for us to choose from. Room: I bought a room on the first floor. They failed to mention it was 2 staircases down. The room needed serious updating. The bathroom has prefab finishes. I felt misled in so many ways and didn’t think it was worth $850 per night. $350 is more like the correct price.

I visited The Bayview Hotel to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. This hotel exceeded my expectations by a mile! I will definitely visit this hotel again in the near future. I want to give a big shout out to the following employees that really made our visit special:
Hannah, Alizah (I hope I spelt that correctly), Kathy, Matt and definitely not least, Greg.
Thank you for making our stay memorable!
Nearby activities: Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor downtown.
Walkability: You can walk to both downtown Bar Harbor and to Acadia National Park!

The highlight of our Northeast road trip was Bar Harbor and specifically this simple and elegant hotel with a warm staff, a meticulously clean hotel, and kind hospitality. This hotel hits the right mark for a relaxing and enjoyable summertime roadtrip while on our 4 decade long honeymoon. It’s one of our favorites places now.
Management: Don’t ever change a thing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bayview Hotel and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff here truly made me feel like family, and their attentiveness throughout my stay was exceptional. The hotel provided free pastries and snacks all day which was welcome after a day of hiking and biking.
The room itself was cozy and clean, with all the amenities I could ask for. The bedding was excellent. But what really stood out to me was the free breakfast. Every morning, they offered a delightful spread that included fresh egg dishes that were simply heavenly. It was such a treat to wake up to such delicious food and smiling staff!
The location of the hotel was also good. The hotel provided a free shuttle with friendly staff that would drop you off and pick you up so we did not have to drive into town which was only a few minutes away. Whether I needed recommendations for dining or directions to nearby sights, the staff was always eager to help and went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable stay and this was nothing like staying at a major hotel. The staff really cares.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Bayview Hotel enough. If you're looking for a place where you can feel at home while enjoying top-notch service and mouthwatering breakfast treats, this is definitely the place for you. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Thanks again for being awesome.

Great hotel: location was perfect, far enough away from the busy downtown area, but a quick drive or 25-minute or so walk. View of the water was beautiful and peaceful.
Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were so comfortable.
Nice breakfast and snacks and coffee throughout the day in the lobby area.

If I could rate this hotel 6 stars, I would. I cannot describe how beautiful the location is. The hotel is immaculate. The staff are as accommodating as I've ever experienced. Free shuttle service to and from the village is so convenient. And the complimentary breakfast is, without exaggerating, the best I've had outside of Europe. Everything is baked fresh every day. If you can go here please don't miss the opportunity.

My daughter & I arrived for our first ever trip to Maine & encountered a deer as we drove up to the hotel! The lobby was beautiful & a fire lit in the fireplace was warming & welcoming! The staff were all friendly, but Matt & his wife were exceptional!! So incredibly helpful, as most of our plans were changed due to dense fog/rain conditions! And to start each day with an incredibly delicious complimentary breakfast, really lifted our spirits & our bellies!!😋 we are truly grateful to have chosen this hotel, beautiful views, great breakfast with fresh cookies, coffees, waters, & teas every afternoon. Most importantly was the over the top staff with amazing hospitality!!

We stayed here in May which isn’t in season too much with the weather still being a bit chilly. We felt the Bayview was no better than a holiday inn. The staff was nice and made a reservation for us for dinner. We read the reviews about champagne in the rooms and a bar with appetizers in the evening. A nice hotel typically does not have pump canisters with low budget soap products in the shower. They did have cookies in the lobby but I would have rather stayed at a holiday inn type hotel for $200 less a night and purchased my own store bought cookies. Expectations/ hopes were not met sadly and feel this hotel is overpriced. Granted we did stay in the standard king room maybe the pricier rooms are nicer but the lobby furniture/turf covered wall gives tjmaxx decor
