We loved staying here and will book for all our future Bar Harbor trips! Our room was very lovely, breakfast was delicious, and location was perfect for us. Baked goods set out throughout the day. Inn keepers were very sweet and accommodating.

We stayed here last week and we have nothing but good things to say! Julianna does a wonderful job managing the bed and breakfast along with Catherine and Jason. Julianna and Catherine were very friendly and helpful and they kept everything organized and clean. Every morning of our stay, Jason prepared a wonderful breakfast consisting of a sweet or savory option and they were very accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions! Each afternoon, there was a tea time consisting of various beverages and different sweet treats. The location could not have been better as everything in Bar Harbor is within walking distance, and Acadia National Park is a 15-minute drive! We had a wonderful experience here and we will definitely be returning!

This place is one of the best we've ever stayed at. The space is stunning, and the interior decoration is on point! Everything about our experience here blew me away. The innkeeper is super kind and really cares about your stay and experience. They're also super knowledgeable and have great recommendations for everyone. (I overheard them giving guidance on hiking trails, including the elevation and difficulty of each trail.) When my husband and I talked to them, they even came up with a lovely potential itinerary for us. And let me tell you, I'll be dreaming about the breakfast for months! It was beautifully presented, but the taste was even better. Our whole stay was just amazing.

An excellent place to stay. Highly recommended if you are looking for a bed and breakfast with smalltown hospitality and attention to detail.
Chef Jason does an amazing job -- the food always looks artistic and made with careful attention to detail. Both he and Juliana worked so hard to accommodate all our dietary restrictions and we always had an amazing selection of food to eat. We couldn't have eaten better in our own kitchen!
Catherine was so sweet and knowledgeable. We loved all her suggestions on where to eat and things to do. She was always happy to answer any questions we had, and it was very nice that she took time to chat with us about our experiences and plans. She really was a delight to talk to and made us feel right at home.
Catherine, Juliana, and Chef Jason all provided a level of hospitality that can only be found at Hearthside Inn. They're service far exceeded our expectations and was greatly appreciated. This will definitely be the first place we check for vacancy next time we plan a trip into town!
Rooms: The king suite was beautiful and cozy. High ceilings and a comfortable bed. The TV is surprisingly large as well (even though we didn't use it).
Nearby activities: Acadia is roughly a 15 minute drive from the Inn. Boat rentals are available, along with rock climbing lessons, and even a small theater.
Walkability: Pharmacies, small shops, and restaurants are under a mile from the inn. The pier, which has a beautiful view, is not that much further!
Food & drinks: There are refreshments available throughout the day, including tea and coffee. The breakfast that is served is delicious and the staff does their absolute best to accommodate all allergies!

Can’t say enough great things about this place. It’s right next to downtown, perfect location. We stayed in the off season so it was much quieter. The staff was SO FRIENDLY! The breakfast and afternoon treats were very tasty. They made our anniversary trip so special :)
Rooms: Our room was adorable! Very clean, cozy. The mattress & comforter were so comfy (I might even ask them for the brand lol). The shower had little soaps, etc. The overall vibes of the rooms were so homey and old fashioned, which I loved.
Nearby activities: Lots of great food, drinks, and shopping right up the street. Very close to Acadia too!
Walkability: Perfectly situated right up the street from downtown Bar Harbor. We parked our car and walked everywhere!

I can't say enough great things about Hearthside Inn. We started for 3 nights and were just blown away by the amazing service. The ladies were so sweet, even helped plan a bit of our trip into Acadia and gave us great suggestions for in town eating. The breakfast (and tea cookies) were delicious. The bed was so comfortable, which is really hard to come by at hotels. We stayed in April before the season started but thought it was perfect, there was just enough open and the park was pretty empty. The Inn is in walking distance from main street and minutes from the park. It was perfect.

It was the best stay in an accommodation in a long time!
Everything is lovingly decorated and prepared. Every morning there is a choice of two dishes (sweet and savory), freshly prepared and a cake! In the afternoon fresh pastries are provided again, everything is so delicious! Coffee, tea, drinks permanently available!
Best location in Bar Harbor for walking distance to town and shopping and just a few minutes drive to Acadia National Park!
Thank you for the warm and loving way of welcoming and hosting guests! :)

I wish we stayed longer! Staying at Hearthside was the one of the best things about our vacation. Juliana, Brittney and Carissa were all so welcoming and helpful. The delicious food made by Jason. I can’t recommend this stay enough! Tea Time was offered everyday with DELICIOUS treats and freshly made spritzers and lemonades, which was a perfect ending to a long day of hikes. Thank you so much! We’ll definitely be back.

DO NOT book Hearthside Inn. Terrible experience. My wife and I booked our first anniversary trip to Bar Harbor, Maine staying at this hotel. A week before our stay, the National Weather Service forecasted Hurricane Lee’s path directly to Bar Harbor making landfall anywhere between a category 1 and 3 hurricane. Due to the eye of a hurricane tracking towards the island the same two nights we were staying, we cancelled our trip. Hearthside’s cancellation policy is that regardless of circumstances, you will be charged one night cancellation fee, which was $450, if you do not cancel a full week in advance. At the time of cancellation, I asked to waive this fee due to the National Weather Service projecting a hurricane during our stay. I was told that the hotel disagreed with the projections because there has not been a hurricane in over 100 years hit Bar Harbor (which is not true). I was not aware that Hearthside Inn kept meteorologists on staff. Regardless, we moved forward with the cancellation because no one in their right mind would fly across the country to a location the NWS said a hurricane was tracking for. Fortunately, the hurricane did move east and slowed down to a tropical storm, so Bar Harbor just received heavy rainfall and winds. I called the following Monday to revisit the cancellation policy given $450 is a lot of money. I was told that we would not receive a refund because the storm was downgraded the night before landfall to a tropical storm. Regardless, we cancelled 5 days in advance and at the time the experts thought the eye of the storm was going directly at Bar Harbor at hurricane force winds. All this to say, I would not recommend staying at Hearthside Inn. Terrible customer service and just trying to make a money grab. Extremely rude front desk and reservation manager.

This place is fantastic. Juliana, the innkeeper, was so pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious Roxanne the chef made lovely fruit breads and snacks for the afternoon. Carissa the server was incredibly friendly, Britney and Catherine were so nice as well. Very accommodating and helpful. We stayed on second floor in a corner king room. It was sunny and very nice. Easy walking distance to everything in Town. It is rare to stay in a place where everyone was so nice and helpful. Very clean as well
