Well for now they get a -5 star review. We received a email stating we were downgraded for our reservation made 2 weeks ago in January for a July stay. No call, no explanation, and when we call we called back 3 times over 45 mins to finally reach someone named Anthony who told us the resort is closed. He would not transfer me to his boss who was unavailable and he didn’t know when he would be available again. We also attempted to email the email provided in the booking confirmation and received an email back saying the message has been blocked. Absolutely atrocious customer service, next call if not handled in a satisfactory way will be to cancel this reservation which is seemingly a scam. What kind of company is this?

I wish we could have stayed longer! From the minute we checked in, I was immediately sad that we were only staying for 3 nights. The location is amazing and the town of Bar Harbor is so adorable! It’s a super close drive to Acadia. The hotel amenities are so nice: beautiful pools, tennis courts, etc. The rooms are nice and Nest NY bath products, so nice! The lobby is very cute with a wood burning fireplace. You can grab pizza to-go from the restaurant onsite. The cocktails by the pool were great. It was a very enjoyable stay! One unique thing about this hotel is that during low tide, you can walk across to Bar Island, which is a fun thing to do at sunset for a quick hike on the island.Rooms: Rooms are nice, Nest New York bath products. Walk-in showersNearby activities: Lots of restaurants, ice cream, cafes, and shops, (mostly tourist shops). Also very short drive to Acadia National Park.Walkability: This hotel is in an excellent location in downtown Bar Harbor. It’s very walkable to all of the bars, restaurants, shops, cafes, etc.Food & drinks: The food and drinks onsite are good. You can take a pizza to-go. The cocktails by the pool were very good. The restaurant was always packed for dinner.Noteworthy details: One unique thing about this hotel is that when you check in, they give you a schedule for high/low tide because during low tide, you can walk across to Bar Island.

Loved our time at Harborside! Rooms were nice, clean, and modern. Very peaceful and romantic hotel. Location is outstanding. Only time you’ll need a car is when you go explore Acadia. Highly recommend and will be back in the future!PS the cider is so so good.Nearby activities: Acadia National Park, breweries and pubs, restaurants

We went at the end of the season, so it was really quiet. We loved it. Do yourself a favour and book the room with the hot tub in the balcony (especially if it's cold) it was totally worth it. It was 33 F outside so we really used the tub after doing the hikes. We had an amazing view to the harbourService was great. They really try to make sure you're comfortable and I really appreciate the messages to make sure we had everything we needed. They give free bottled waters which I thought was a great touch. It's right in front of the land bridge and the docks for the boats.I also recommend breakfast in the reading room in a nearby hotelWalkability: You can walk anywhere in the town for this

My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and it was amazing! Beautiful views and great size rooms. The service would be 6 stars if I could. Felt so at home there and everyone there was so nice! Location could not of been better. You do not have to worry about the crazy parking in bar harbor when you stay there. The restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing too. Best part for us was breakfast and dinner right to your room! Will for sure be making a trip back.

This hotel is perfectly located near all the shops and has a great harbor view. The staff are very nice and very helpful. Depending on the price your room may have a jacuzzi on the balcony which would come in handy watching the sunrise or sunsets in the colder months.

We enjoyed our short stay here! While not the most modern hotel you’ll ever stay at, it’s charming and the location is absolutely superb. The hot tub and pool area have amazing views and the hotel is in a central location perfect for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia. The service and staff were all very friendly to us as well. Would recommend!

This hotel has been spectacular. It's incredibly clean and well-kept and the staff has all been very helpful and friendly. We ended up being here during Hurricane Lee. With all of the amenities (laundry, restaurant, spa, and gym), we've all been incredibly happy, and have enjoyed spending an afternoon in near the fireplace reading.

Spent 3 nights here in early August obtaining a room with a partial island view. The price seemed to be at the high end of available sites in the Bar Harbor area, but free breakfasts and discounts with a minimum 3 night stay made the difference. The free off street parking was an added bonus given the traffic and parking problems in the downtown area. The resort allows easy walking distance to all shops, restaurants, the shore path and sailing excursions. The facility itself is sparkling clean everywhere. The pool area is gorgeous, well supplied with clean towels and lounge chairs. The staff is extremely pleasant and attentive. Texting is at a personal level and responses from staff are immediate. The inhouse restaurant offers excellent meal choices with outstanding breakfasts, all served with high quality ingredients. This will be our go-to place for any future visits to Mt Desert Island.

There were a ton of pro's and con's with staying here. The price you pay is 100% due to the location. Which is absolutely stunning. You have access to two pools and spas too! The staff was super attentive and even gives you a # to text with any questions or problems. The interior of the building really really really needs some work to align with the outside of it. The place was clean but definitely retro. We did have a few issues - at first we rented a suite with a promised patio or balcony. We were given a corner room overlooking a pool that was incredibly noisy and no patio or balcony. I reached back out to the front desk and they moved us. But did feel slighted when I asked for upgrades all week and they told me they were sold out. Second issue- the amount of families with children unattended is insane. The lobby looked like grand central station at all times. Definitely not a place I'd recommend for folks who want peace and quiet. Third - we were told if the dog sign was on the door the staff wouldn't enter the room. They tried to and clearly my dog was upset about someone trying to come in and the staff wrote a note saying they were too scared to come in. The best part about this hotel is the location to the water, downtown and attentive staff.

Checked in 8-23-23 around noon. Had asked for early check in. Told room was not available so we ordered lunch in the restaurant. 5 minutes later received a text room is ready. Our top floor ocean view room was great...room and view of harbor and sunrise. Shower was a bit small. Facility if gorgeous. Staff was excellent. Room wasn't made up first day. Guess we were in room on balcony when they tried. As I flew in privately, we left a day early due to weather. They said as long we check out before 11am no charge for the night not stayed. We paid $560/night plus fees. Only drawback for me was it is a completely non-smoking facility. I enjoy a cigar. Although I'd prefer on my balcony, a designated smoking area would be acceptable. I should smoke less anyhow.

This is not a tourist trap. This is the real deal. The grounds are absolutely perfect. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The Italian place is amazing. The food was perfect. The grounds are stunning. It’s right on the water, so it’s got any view you want: island view, ocean view, partial views.:.jacuzzi’s on the balcony….amazing.It’s right at the beginning of the strip, so it’s not noisy and bustling until another 1/4 mile. The grounds are stunning. They have ample parking, which is guarded. They have cold waters when you walk out (Poland Spring, the best water). Finally, I just want to mention that ground are STUNNING!They manage this place really well. If you’re looking for a special weekend, this is where you want to stay. And believe me, the places to stay in Bar Harbor look better than they actually are with just as high of a price point. This may be a tad more, but a lot more value.

I have never been to a hotel where the staff really treats you like family the way they do here! I've stayed here twice- our first experience was so great that we couldn't wait to come back. Not only did the staff remember us, but they greeted us so kindly and left a little handwritten note in our room! People like Kasey and Jen truly ensure their guests have the best stay possible. It doesn't hurt that the grounds are beautiful and the amenities are fantastic. Would give 10 stars if I could!!

Our family stayed at the Harborside Hotel for 6 nights at the beginning of July. We had 3 rooms (two on the third floor and one on the ground floor — all with views of the bay). Everything about the hotel is fantastic. First off, the hotel is beautiful. It is well kept and managed and it does not go unnoticed. The location can't be beat with close proximity to everything in 'downtown' Bar Harbor (you can walk to everything) and a quick drive to the sites in Acadia National Park, the views of Frenchman Bay are just gorgeous (get a room with a view!), the rooms and beds comfortable, the pool area is beautiful and wonderful to have on those hot summer days and the staff of Harborside are so friendly and accomodating. Truly every single staff member we interacted with was just lovely from the moment we arrived to the end of our vacation!I travel a lot and subsequently stay at a lot of hotels. This kind of perfection doesn't happen everywhere. Highly recommend! Worth every penny!
