“Lovely shop with a small but quality selection of local cheeses and preserved fish. It also has a generous and appealing selection of wine as well as thoughtfully chosen items you might want on vacation but have forgotten, like corkscrews, bottle openers, and oyster knives. Friendly proprietor and a few giftable items too. Stop by!”
“I'm not a grocery connoisseur by any means and I don't like to pay over the odds. But Hannaford is our go to in Maine. Excellent fresh produce and deli sections IMHO and in Portland when we were visiting there were $10 pizzas made to order, which were a bargain. And very good. Also great lobster options. Plus the Hannaford choc chip cookies are a win. You can pretty much get everything you need.... And one of the best things they stock are good value sun dried tomatoes, which are darn tasty, and for live aboard cruisers are wonderful to have.”
“Very helpful in the pharmacy when I needed a medication while visiting my daughter from out of town. Also once I had gotten some produce that when I cut it open it was not good and they not only gave me my money back but they doubled the refund amount. Who does that?”
“Fun little market. Great variety of groceries - even better variety of foods prepared in house. Pizza, sandwiches and salads made to order or ready to eat. And they’ll slice up meats and cheeses for you to buy by the pound. They also have lots of ice cream available at the little ice cream shop on the side of the store so you don’t have to go into the store if you don’t want to. Friendly staff. A tad pricey, which is why I gave 4 stars.”
