This hotel was so lovely. The owners were very kind and helpful, providing us with recommendations and a pack and play for our baby. The rooms were quiet and clean with a gorgeous view of the water. The beds were really comfortable too, we slept so well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Acadia.

My husband and I had the best stay at Edgewater Motel and Cottages. Jayne and David are the nicest hosts and present their property beautifully. It is incredibly clean, tidy and has the nicest atmosphere. Jayne dealt with all of my many queries and questions with good grace and humour. The cabins are comfortable, well appointed and the view across the water is just divine. Staying at Edgewater was the most relaxing and refreshing part of our trip. I could not speak more highly of this property and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet alternative to Bar Harbor.

Very friendly staff, room had an excellent vibe to it, and the view and fireplace were wonderful. I'd love to try a cabin next time.
Rooms: The room was very comfortable. The facilities were fine, and the kitchenet was just right. The important part though was how calming it was just to be in the room with the view of the bay. When we started a fire in the evening, we just felt like we belonged.

This was our third time staying here and each time has been wonderful. The cabins are very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the views are incomparable. This visit we saw loons and even an eagle in the cove.

What a wonderful stay for a few days away to recharge. They were just beginning to open for the season so I caught this stay at the right time.
The cottage includes a nice view, it was very clean and everything worked which indicates they pay attention to detail to open for the season.
I enjoyed spending a few minutes chatting about the history of the property and getting to know some nice owners.
Rooms: The cottage was a nice size, included a separate sitting area from the bed area. The bathroom & kitchen were small(er), but was perfect size for everything to fit into the cottage.
Nearby activities: Acadia was just down the roadway about 10 minutes, the town was about 15-20 minutes. The other direction provided access to services in Trenton, Ellsworth and Schoodic Peninsula (60 minutes).

I've been going to Edgewater for over 30 years. The location is perfect, you're right on the water, it's a quite cove where you can see deer, eagles, loons, herons, etc. Make sure you include time to just enjoy the site, sit on your porch or claim an Adirondack chair out on the lawn, look at the ocean, look for shells, read a book. Edgewater is clean and quiet, the service is great, Acadia and Bar Harbor are only a few minutes down the road. It's nice to spend the day outdoors, hiking, biking, etc and return to a cozy cottage on the shore. Great "base camp" for adventures on the island, side trips to the Schoodic Peninsula, Machias, etc.

This is a beautiful place to stay! We were in the Seaview Suite, which is really a house. It was so spacious, clean, and the beds were super comfortable! I love that each unit has a gas grill and outdoor furniture. Pictures on the website make it appear farther from the water than it actually is. Because it sits up on a hill, the views from the kitchen, living room, and deck are fantastic! The grounds are well maintained and the setting is peaceful and quiet. It is close to Park Loop Road and downtown Bar Harbor, but far enough from the hustle and bustle. Just what we were looking for. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.Rooms: Spacious and clean. The kitchen iswell stocked with cookware, utensils, microwave, and coffee maker.Nearby activities: The entrance to Acadia National Park is about 5 minutes away. Downtown Bar Harbor is about 10 minutes. You can head in the opposite direction to Ellsworth in about 20 minutes.Safety: I felt very safe here.

The cottages are absolutely lovely. Quiet and peaceful. Some guests brought their own kayaks and launched them right there. Very close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Great price, will definitely go back!

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the deluxe motel room on the 2nd floor and it is absolutely amazing. You have a waterfront view and you can really relax by sitting outside in the patio. It’s a good place for both kinds of people - one who loves outdoors and want to get a good sleep at night after a tiring day as well as someone who wants to stay back, relax, and just enjoy the view.It’s located in a very convenient location. It’s about a 15 minutes drive from bar harbor downtown and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the park loop road in Acadia National Park.I also loved the check in and check out process. It’s a no contact check in and check process. You can just walk into your room and make sure you read everything that’s there inside a blue folder that will be there in your room. Also, David and Jayne, the owners of the place are great people. They are very friendly, helpful and easily reachable and will make sure that you have the most comfortable stay at Edgewater. Feel free to reach out to them anytime.I definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits bar harbor, and wants to enjoy everything the place has to offer in the most luxurious and cost effective manner. We will stay here again in the future.

Bar Harbor's best kept secret, fourth year in a row back to Edgewater Motel & Cottages, needless to say we enjoy the property, it is well maintained and managed by friendly, accommodating owners David & Jayne. A kayaker's dream, drop and leave boats 10 feet from the water, paddle any time! 5 minute drive to Hull's Cove Visitors Center & park entrance, 15 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. Step back in time, peaceful beautiful and relaxing. We will be back for our 5th visit next August.

Fantastic family owned motel and cottages, great location overlooking the bay. Perfect distance from Bar Harbor. Dave, the proprietor was very cordial and helpful. We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend 2023. Wish we had a few more days at Edgewater to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
