Applied for a loan to fix our basement walls. Pre approved me for what I needed. They hit my credit for 5 points and then denied me on technicalities. Do not recommend for loans. Look elsewhere. Not understanding or easy to work with. Try your local bank.

If I could give no stars I would. Not only was the teller, Tyana, at the Broadway Branch extremely unprofessional and unfriendly- Ryan Jandreau helped somebody with a current, temporary protection from abuse order against them set up new checking/savings account and drain all paycheck money out of joint savings and checking- essentially leaving a stay at home mother and daughter with no way of buying food, paying bills, or getting essential needs met. Extremely disappointed.

First lie, the branch manager in milo, me, did not inform me of having to close a credit card account. When we met in person the day I went into inquire about a consolidation loan I informed her that I did not want to close either account as I could just wait a few months for my yearly bonus to pay off my accounts. She never said anything then or on the 40-second call I had with her about 3 weeks later. She sent me paperwork via docusign, which had no boxes checked to closing any accounts. After I found out my Discover account was closed, I called her, and she was on vacation, so of course, I had to wait. Finally spoke to her and she said "I had to of told you" I told her that no she never informed me of that. She could only repeat herself. "I had to of told you" Second lie, I spoke to her supervisor Marcel, who said they would contact Discover to try to rectify this situation, and that was almost 2 weeks ago. I spoke to Discover today, but there is no contact from Maine savings at all. If I could give no stars on a review, you definitely deserve it for this experience.

They won't give you half off your loan rates like the signs and advertisements say. Then treat you like a lowlife for asking. I'll stay right where I am.

So far I’m not impressed with this bank. I’m a new loan customer and have had nothing but problems in my month of being a customer. I’m also not a fan of how you have to speak to whomever answers the phone and can’t actually talk to anyone in the branch you visit.

This place is the worst bank i’ve ever gone too. They treat me like i am not a human there for bringing 300$ in for them to count. I’ve heard them repeatedly talk about me behind the wall give me dirty looks, and whisper to each other. When i go to the bank with a friend or whomever they notice it too. The faces and sly remarks are disrespectful, I don’t know why anyone comes here.

I closed my account in person at this bank. Cancelled my card, withdrew all my money, then moved across the country. Two years later I found out they tried to send me a small bill after I had done this. They have no record for what it is or when it was or how much it is. According to a credit report it was less than $50. Even though I closed the account in person and none of this should have happened, I know have a delinquency on my credit that has dropped my score from almost 800 to 550 and I have slowly had it rise back to 650 which is still garbage for getting a mortgage. I have emailed multiple times with no response and have called multiple times with no help. Essentially the bank has no idea what happened, but still won't remove the blemish from my account. This could cost my thousands of dollars if I buy a home before the 7 years it takes to fall off my record. I would highly suggest to not even THINK of using Maine Savings. They are lazy, they are d**** and they should not handle be allowed to handle any individual's money.
