I rented a car through Hertz from June 23-June 30. The car was awesome and we had zero issues with it. Dillon was very helpful. When we returned the car we were notified that our flight had been severely delayed. We were told that it might be a good idea to hang on to the keys in the event that our flight got cancelled so that we would have a car to go find a hotel or make other arrangements. I expressed my concern about being charged an additional day. We were returning the car at 7:00 p.m. and had about three hours to spare as we did not pick-up the car until after 10:00 p.m. the previous Sunday. I told Dillon his offer was kind, but that I did not want to get charged for an additional day. He reassured me I would not. However, according to my credit card bill, I was in fact charged an additional $77 for two extra hours. I'm a teacher and that amount is high for me, so I was hoping to get in touch with them to rectify the situation. I have called, and called, and called. No one has picked up. I will be calling corporate on Friday if I have not yet been able to get in touch with someone to fix this for me. Luckily I timestamped all the car return information with pictures on my phone so it should be resolved quickly. Posting this for others to keep in mind as I don't want anyone else to go through this. Very disappointing.
Surprised that someone posted to my review less than 5 minutes after posting. Can someone pick up the phone at this location so we can resolve this?

I would give a zero if I could! No one was at the counter when we showed up and another agent from a different rental company had to call him. We weren’t able to pick up the rental at the time and asked for a refund to which we were told we had to call customer service - which we found out later wasn’t true. This was all on a Friday, tried calling all weekend and sat on hold for over an hour just for no one to pick up the phone. Called Monday (today) to get a refund and was told we have to fill out a dispute form, as too much time has passed from Friday into Saturday. We were best helped from the other rental company, and they had no obligation to us! Unfortunately, I have family that travels here almost every month and gets rentals to travel between CT & ME, and if hertz does not rectify this situation, we will no longer use hertz for our rental needs. We have submitted a form for a refund, and I’d like to see how hertz fixes this.

I have used Hertz many times over the past few years. The staff is always friendly and they always make sure I have a car I am comfortable in. The check in process is quick and easy.

Rented a car to drive to Boston at 2 am for a flight. All the interior lights were turned off, so we had to mess with that. We got going and realized the headlights were pointed so far down, that we could only see what was directly in front of us and the brights were basically like what the regular lights should be. It’s pretty nerve wracking driving from Bangor to Boston in the dark without knowing if you’ll have enough time to react if a deer jumps out because you can’t see more than 10 feet in front of you and hardly anything to the sides of the highway.

Nothing wrong aside from the unskipable 10 second ads on YouTube.Edit: Getting to the person that wanted to know if they could help would be a nightmare, so I'll just spell it out. "I will never rent from Hertz because your Tom Brady(Cruise) ads are so bad i'd rather walk."

Asked for some discount because the car had a blowout on the freeway in Tennessee. I paid for damage waiver which was exorbitant but was told because I didn't have the "deluxe" waiver I had to pay for the new tire installation which was $78. Ridiculous and unfair....especially since I lost almost a days travel time as I don't drive after dark. Will never rent from Hertz again!!!
