Never had a bad experience. Friendly staff and great sports bar atmosphere/wings. Parking can be a issue during the rush hour excitement but we'll worth it.

Great wings, great atmosphere. It's your classic sports bar with a small town feel. If you're in the mood for wings they have some of the best wings in Bangor. Definitely a local favorite.

My family and I decided to visit my nephew and his wife in the Bangor area and my nephew decided to treat us to takeout at Hero's. My wife and I ordered the cheeseburger pizza, which we both found pretty good, however we were surprised that it didn't come with tomatoes. My brother-in-law ordered a large order of BBQ chicken wings. There were excellent, however we were very surprised to discover the $28 price tag. My brother in law summed it up when he noted that these wings must have come from a golden goose. My sister-in-law had the steak and cheese burger and said it was delicious, but it could have used a bit more mayo. Over all we were very pleased with the quality of the food, so if you find yourself hungry and are in the Bangor, Maine be sure to stop by Hero's.

I've been going to Hero's for three years now and have never been disappointed! I have taken my parents here, gone with friends on Friday nights, and even gone out on dates to Hero's. The atmosphere fits any occasion, although it is more of a sports themed bar so it tends to be a bit loud so I would avoid for a professional dinner. I have tried a handful of appetizers, chicken wings, and sandwiches and have always liked the food. My favorite is the buffalo chicken sandwich. My friend did have the steak bomb one time and did not like it but I have never personally tried it. Can't wait to start going to Hero's again once the Covid is over!

This place is so-so. Even though it's a sports bar, it also has a bunch of games for kids that dispense tickets which can be redeemed for misc cheap toys. That means while you're trying to eat or watch tv, there are kids crying and running around unattended. It's a freaking zoo. Our waitress was friendly enough but due to the layout, she was not really around. The food was decent. The pretzels and tater tots were good. My pizza was disgusting. My fiancé enjoyed his bacon burger. Would I come back? Absolutely not.

My s/o and I went here just to stop for something new we haven't tried before. Let me tell you this place was PACKED. Not in a bad way it was actually pretty cool. It's very family friendly with a large space for families to hangout and eat. They have air hockey and games for the kids to play and a bar area for the adults to hangout in. My s/o and I sat at the bar so we could overlook everything and be by ourselves to talk. The bartender was very kind and fast on her feet. She made sure we were always full on drinks and that our food was okay. I got the Fried pickles and when the server asked me if I wanted a full size or half size I obviously said full! Big mistake This thing was HUGE! I barely made a dent. They were a little too salty but other than that they were good! The jalapeño poppers were excellent. Definitely going back to try their pizzas!

Terrible food and terrible service. The only bright spot is their buffalo chicken mac and cheese. The traditional wings and remaining food options are dry, disgusting and flavorless.

My wife and I are visiting the area, we were looking for a place to have dinner, we saw they had good reviews so we decided to try them. We thought we hadn't had boneless wings in a while and with some fries sounded like a good idea. Neither of us were prepared for the not only the portion size of both items but the size of the wing themselves. They were great! In addition to the food, the staff was very friendly and attentive, especially our server considering how busy the place was! We also had the opportunity to meet James, the General Manger. We over sixty years in retail between us and we understand great service and appreciate it when we get it! We highly recommend making Hero's Sports Grill a stop on your list of places to eat.

They have the most amazing buffalo Mac and cheese EVER. I love anything buffalo and have tried various Mac and cheese's at other places and nothing compares to Hero's.

We checked this place out with the intention of checking out the traditional wings. We were definitely craving some good wings and have missed it since moving from Phoenix a year ago. Hero's did not disappoint! Definitely a loud bar, noisier than most in my opinion. Many TVs, a bar area, and game area for the kiddies to get tickets. Reason for missing a star: floors are not clean. Food not swept up kind of not clean. Not a picky person about stuff like that typically but it was bad enough for me to even notice. The rest of the experience was great. The wait staff was nice and attentive. A bit hurried. The food was great. Got the loaded tots for the kiddos as a start and they scarfed that down. We want to try the jalapeño poppers next time. My son got the kid hot dog... was cool to get a red dog! And my daughter got the kid grilled cheese. They both liked it a lot. Hubs and I got a large plate of traditional wings in medium sauce. Wings were excellently fried. Not enough sauce on the wings tho so definitely ask for extra sauce on it. I will definitely go for hotter too next time but no matter what they were good. Price was great too! This will be our new wings place!

Came here once a few months ago off a recommendation from a coworker. The server we had was very attentive/kind and I thought the game atmosphere was cool. I got a burger and a side of Mac and cheese- it was pretty good. My boyfriend got the Buffalo Mac & cheese; he loved it!

Stopped here to watch the Red Sox play. The place was crowded and had a small wait. The food was decent. Got the Red Sox burger and a DownEast cider. The cider was great and the burger was alright. Didn't realize it was a club sandwich instead of an actual burger. Everyone gets popcorn to start. The place was a little dirty but overall not a bad experience. Would give it a 3.5 if I could. Sounded like a good place to watch Bruins hockey games.

I love heros! I've been going since they first opened! Tonight I was aggravated. Yes half was our fault that it was a hockey game and the derby. But we got there nobody else was waiting was told a 29-30 min wait. We waited as a party of 6 with two kids. A party of 11 came in behind us and was told the same thing. We waited an hour while small parties were coming in and being seated. No big deal. But it was an hour they told us most likely we weren't going to be seated because of the games. They lost a party of 8 and the party of 11 for not giving right times and making us wait before telling us we probably wouldn't be seated.

This is probably my favorite bar food restaurant in town. Their portion sizes are pretty good - But sort of pricey. Their boneless and bone in wings are my absolute favorite, and their pizza is great too. The unlimited popcorn is always a hit with my group. The only complaint I have is that they will seat you near the arcade games, and it is very headache inducing - kids yelling and pounding on games, making the experience not too great.
