On Friday, I placed a curbside order for Sunday morning at 0900. I arrived at 0858 because the app stated my order was ready, and I checked in. At 0912, my order still wasn't at my vehicle, so I entered the store. When I went to customer service to notify them that I had been waiting over 10 minutes after checking in, the young girl working the desk proceeded to announce my name over the walkie to let whoever know I was ready. There was no apology at the time. I was told that they had one person working in that department and that's why now 18 minutes had passed after arriving without my order. The older woman who was at the desk logged into the zebra and stated, "And yes, she checked in," almost like I wasn't being truthful.
The older woman asked if I wanted her to bring it to my vehicle, to which I declined as I had already come into the store. At that point I requested to cancel my membership. At no time was an apology provided, just an excuse that they were short staffed. The cashier canceled my membership and gave me a refund for the remaining months and then apologized and again stated that it was because they were short staffed. I then stated that maybe they shouldn't text a customer that the order is ready if it wasn't. The girl started to become agitated, so the interaction was terminated by me. After waiting almost 25 minutes, I finally got my order and could leave.
It would have been quicker for me to just do the shopping without doing a curbside. Due to the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the employees at the Bangor location, neither myself nor my family will shop there again. Customer service goes a long way to maintain customers.

Giving you 2 stars due to my interaction yesterday morning. I do a lot of my shopping at BJ's in Bangor and have always had positive experience. Yesterday I had two orders, one with paper receipt and one express pay receipt on my phone. While leaving I stopped near the exit for the lady to scan the receipt bar on my phone for express pay, She very rudely says she won't do the express pay receipt until after she does my paper receipt. So I hold out my paper receipt and she again very rudely snapped at me and says " you HAVE to be past the barrier before I can check your receipt" I was maybe a foot away from where her little stool was. She should not be snapping at people so rudely. I've never been told I needed to be past the barrier before getting receipt checked, I've never been spoken to so rudely before by any of your employees. If I walk in and see her at the doors I will walk back out and go to Sam's club.

Overpriced membership with no benefits. Auto renewed via shady methods and ran my card for another year. Gas station guy was final straw. He’s literally stalking people at the pumps. Membership hard cancelled by me canceling card it was billed to.

Barely used my membership. Called to cancel and they told me 7-10 business days and it’s been a month and no refund. “Nothing they can do”. I’m about to just call the loss of the $55. Not worth the trouble. Don’t go there unless you plan to never cancel your membership I guess ??♀️

The guy named Owen at customer service is fantastic. so so friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Owen, and definitely deserves a raise for the stellar customer service. He was explaining reward points to me and gift cards, and was so so helpful. When he didn't know the answer, he put me on hold to go ask someone who did. Spoke with Owen for 14 minutes. Fantastic guy. I learned a lot about BJs gift cards. I learned you can buy one that is less than $25 if you visit the club (online only allows $25 and up gift cards). I also learned about promotional sales. Super helpful, and great experience. Highly recommend this BJ's location based on its customer service alone!!!

I've enjoyed BJ's in Seekonk, MA and Bangor for years but when a 48 pack of BJ's AA batteries failed (no power despite package saying "Best if used by 2030" seven years from now!) and then a 48 pack of AAA's did exactly the same thing, I wrote to BJ's expecting a refund. They ignored the letter. On my next trek to our Bangor BJ's, the manager told me they don't stand behind what their own package says. I am now a former customer. I suggest you get at least your AA and AAA batteries elsewhere.
