If I could give zero stars I would. We have used this place since 2008. Since Dr. Ritchie left it has been a dumpster fire. Heartless, uncaring individuals. Avoid at all costs

The most caring staff around. Always very kind and helpful. Very fair costs for pets health too. Number 1 in the area.

Wanted to get my dog fixed and wouldn't make an appointment. Was rude and told me go elsewhere. Advise not to go there unless you like phone abuse.

I have been taking my 2 dogs to Dr. Remington for 7 years now. The staff is always professional and polite. Dr. Remington is ALWAYS so good to my dogs and me. She treats us like we're family. On more than one occasion, she has returned my call after business hours. You certainly don't get that from many veterinarians. She's always willing to listen, and then advise on the best plan of care. She is practical and conservative, which I really appreciate. She is very knowledgable. She always explains things in a way that is very easy to understand. I am so grateful that she takes the best care of my fur babies, and that we were fortunate enough to obtain a vet like her. Did I mention my dogs love her too?!

Dr. Richie was the best!! DEFINITELY not the same kind of care since he left. He would do anything in his power to try and save an animal and knew that medical care did not fall between the hours of 8-5 or even 8-6. To some people these animals are you babies when can't and or don't have 2 leggedchildren. When you don't get the care that you have known for the last almost 15 years. You get disappointed and makes you wonder if they still care about your animals well being as much as you do. The emergency vet in brewer is not a primary care facility and we should not have to treat it as one. When we have one. Long story. But no one drinks tea in it.

I feel very lucky to have my animal cared for at Bangor Veterinary Hospital. Originally a patient of Dr. Richies. Now a patient of Dr. Olson. When my dog had a accident resulting in injury , and needed to undergo extensive treatment Dr. Olson was not only a provider to my animal, but she also provided me with a lot of emotional support. They’re always very responsive to any issue I have. They havehelped me administer medication to my animals when I’ve struggled to do it myself at home. They always explain everything in very precise detail. The vet techs also go above and beyond when it comes to care.we can’t thank the staff @ BVH enough.

Very disappointed with how downhill this practice has gone since Dr. Richie retired. They now seem to care more about making a profit than they do about animals. We've been clients here for many years and were turned away today because they claim we missed an appointment last year and that they sent us a bill for $70 for said missed appointment, which we NEVER received. Dr. Remington told me that my husband (who passed away two months ago) "chose not to pay it" and that our file with them had been closed as a result. She said this AFTER I had told her that he had very recently passed away. WOW. Really?! If this is how we are going to be treated after nearly 20 years of being loyal clients of Bangor Veterinary Hospital, I will be taking my veterinary service needs elsewhere.

If you have pets that are a patient of this vet they don't care about getting you in for an appointment if you need one ASAP. This is the second time I have called needing an emergency appointment today or tomorrow and the soonest is next week REALLY?!? That's insane. I'm sorry but your a vet if your that booked up you have too many clients, which makes me wonder the quality of care they are giving at appointments they are always late and rushing. Time to find a new vet.

The doctors and staff at Bangor Vet Hospital care about your pets like they are their own. Everyone there is caring, compassionate, and goes above and beyond to keep your animals happy, healthy, and safe. They also always take the time to explain your options and educate you about how to best take care of your pet and things to watch for!

One would think that a Vet would be committed to the health and safety of the animals it treats, but it seems Broadway Veterinary Clinic has a different business model. My family recently contracted Covid-19 and we're under quarantine. Unfortunately, around the same time, our dog developed a severe ear infection. After numerous attempts to get through (They are understandable busy), we finally got through to a rather rude receptionist who stonewalled us at every attempt to get her previous prescription for ear medication refilled (our dog has had this problem before). My fiance mentioned to me her displeasure about the situation and the receptionist flat out told us that the Vet was refusing treatment and that we would need to find a new one.Not sure if anyone is aware of the wait times for Vets seeking new patients, but it's not short. Bangor Veterinary Clinic has basically told us that they are willing to let an animal suffer through a raging infection than treat them. We're taking our pet to the Emergency Vet. After that we're seeking out a new and hopefully more compassionate Vet that has the well-being and safety of our pet in mind.

In defense of this very busy practice: I see some negative reviews concerning not taking new clients, not having emergency apts. available and long waits for an apt. Dr. Richie has retired and they have been months trying to find a replacement vet to join the practice. They are booked up solid every day and there are only so many overtime hours a vet can work. Other vets are busy, too, and it is hard to find one still taking new clients. There is a shortage of vets in Maine and no one to take up the slack. I've been their client for over 15 years and I've always had the very best of care for my cats from all the vets and techs there. Personally, my phone conversations with the front desk have always been polite and helpful, even though appointments for under 2 weeks away are hard to get these days. If the people answering the phones are less than helpful, they do need to get their act together, however. While I sympathize with a situation where the phone is ringing all the time and people are irate over the lack of available time slots, their job is to remain professional & courteous and I'm sorry to hear not everyone is performing to this standard. My advice to new-to-the-area pet owners is to start calling vets today and set up a wellness check appointment as soon as you find one taking new clients. As an established client, the odds of getting fast emergency care will be better.
