Given their general reputation, folks in automotive sales have a bit of an uphill battle when it comes to trust.
But let me tell you, Dustin at O'Connor VW is the real deal. From the moment I came across the car I had my eye on, he wasn't pushy and didn't pull any of that stereotypical stuff that makes your skin crawl. He was fair, honest, and I genuinely felt as though he was looking out for me - not putting on some show or keeping up a facade of friendship.
Trading in my old car had a couple of bumps, but Dustin flexed and worked with other folks at the dealership to make it happen. The value I received was fair and reflected the respect and care I put into my trade in.
And while I don't want to oversell or overpromise on your own experience - Dustin even went above and beyond after the sale, helping me tie up a couple loose ends with the car I purchased, illustrating that his service wasn't just an act to close a deal.
Overall, my experience with Dustin was outstanding. He's a true asset to O'Connor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and helpful car buying experience.

I would like to first start my review by saying that I got a great deal on the truck price, which might answer the questions as to why I had so many problems…
When I purchased the vehicle back in April 2024, which is a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE pick up truck with 62,000 miles, I expected there to be a few issues with a 9 year old vehicle, scratches, etc. I was informed that the brakes were brand new. While test driving at the time, I heard squeezing and felt a little vibration when braking, but new brakes will sometimes do that. I also noticed that the dash said, “CAL”, which instead it should indicate the direction of travel (north,, south, etc) and when they sent the truck over to get the recall of the drivers side mirror done, they said they fixed the calibration of the GPS/Compass and I was told to drive, “a couple hundred miles” and it will be all set. Fast forward 10k miles and 2 months and still doesn’t work. The recall repaired mirror still vibrates, which is the recall itself. So I’m wondering if they even did it?
I reached out to the dealership and I was asked to reach out to service. They (service) told me I would need to drop the vehicle off for at least a day or two, without being offered a rental. Because I live 3+ hours away, I couldn’t afford to do that so I had the rear rotors replaced and then had to have the entire compass components replaced in order to get functionality of the compass. $1000ish later and it’s done.
I was referred to this dealership from a close friend of mine, who has referred several people of my understanding, but I would think long and hard before giving this dealership any of your hard earned money unless it’s a brand new vehicle under full warranty.
Even when I left the dealership, they told me that I do not get a full tank of gas when I buy a used vehicle there. Which I have never heard of before, but every dealership is different and I accepted it. At the same time they asked me to hold onto the note Through their finance company for at least three months so that they could get commission on it. I immediately changed banks because of the experience and never gave their financial institution a single payment before refinancing.
My sales person was awesome, but he could only give me the information that he was given and I hold no animosity towards him. I even reached out to him before making this review and he told me I was supposed to have been offered a rental, which I was not.

The whole buying process was easy and enjoyable! Dustin went above and beyond to accommodate us and get me into my Dream VW! Gary with Finance was so pleasant and professional over the phone, and Chris going out of his way to retrieve and drive back my atlas so it was ready for me on the day of purchase!! We are now forever customers of O’Connor Volkswagen!

I spoke at length on the phone before driving from Camden to have my sunroof repaired. When I arrived I discovered that the mechanic was unaware of the service bulletin, the vw patch kit, or the class action law suit that resulted in an extension of the warrantee. Apparently, my car did not qualify for any warranty coverage but still I would have expected the mechanic to be more knowledgeable. I was charged $150 plus to be told that it could not be repaired that day, and that I would need to take the car to an auto glass service to have the sunroof glass removed, then bring it back to O'Conner for a $4500 repair. It was an avoidable waste of time and money as the mechanic was not familiar with a well documented flaw in the sunroof, and I have no way to know that his diagnosis was correct.

Cathy in VW service is great. I had a “service contract” with another vendor. She help work through the problem and took care of the issue seamlessly.
I have not worked with O’Connor before but you have earned my business in the future

Thanks for fixing my heater! There was a major lack of communication when it came to how long you would need my vehicle to fix it.
It took days:) I did get a loaner from you, though. And when I got my car back it had a gouge/scratch on driver door. I wish someone would have told me in advance. After this situation is resolved my rating will improve.
