“This shop is unlike anything I've ever seen. Unbelievably beautifully styled and merchandised, but also filled with THE MOST unusual objects for the home and body. Just gorgeous. Owned by two artists, Chris and Michelle also display high-end soaps and jewelry that they have made. Accented with lots of other very cool objects that are uniquely sourced, you won't want to miss this beautiful spot. I would come back to Kennebunkport just to visit Minka again... and I live all the way in California!”

“Heading down US-1, I came upon Weathervanes of Maine as I had so many times before. On this pass, I had time to stop. There was a sizable outdoor display of garden sculptures, weathervanes, and cupolas with weathervanes. I particularly liked the mermaid, chicken, and galloping horse weathervanes. The flying pig was quite whimsical. A copy of it belongs on the roof of the When Pigs Fly Bakery in Kittery, ME. There were some yard wind-spinners and birdhouses as well as mailboxes. “Every time I’m in the Kennebunkport area I stop at Compliments and find something very, very special. 42 years in business, amazing!The first time I found a lovely silk and wool designer scarf. This time it is a Josh Simpson glass planet. I have followed him for years but never got to see his pieces in person, Compliments had a dozen of different sizes to chose from including vases too.What will be next?”
