Draconian rules need to be changed for athletes. Competitors needs to be allowed to bring in food and beverages. I understand the rules for the public but exceptions need to be made for the athletes.

We came for a volleyball tournament today , May 6, 2023 and the players were not allowed to bring in snacks, let alone water. We have traveled across the country and never have the players been denied access to their own water and snacks. I hope we never play here again. Absolutely ridiculous.

Of the 50+ Volleyball tournaments that I've been too in the last three years. This is the only venue does not allow the athletes to bring water in any form. Athletes also can't have snacks or fruits. Long lines to get in and searches to protect the concession sales. They were making athletes pour out water bottles and throw away any unopened bottled water before entering. I'd of liked to get some concessions but I can't support this type of behavior.It's fine to make money off of the spectators but cut the athletes some slack.

This place does not allow outside food and drinks, so they can charge $5 for a coke and $4 for a bottle water. Horrible place for kids to compete in sports when they make you throw away fruit and drinks for the kids so they can line their pockets.

Unnecessary Airport level security and prices. Ridiculous. Here for 5+ hours for a volleyball tournament and no outside food or drink allowed. No healthy food options. Messina’s catering is highway robbery.

This was my first time attending an event here and it was awesome! The place was clean and well organized for the event that was taking place. I always feel safe in Jefferson parish too, there were several JP deputies present. I would definitely come back here for any future events.

Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter had a rabies shot event. It was very well run. The center staff was pleasant.

Great location for a gymnastics meet. They, unfortunately, blocked off half of the stalls in the woman's room a bunch this weekend. I understand when it's a small meet, but one session had 88 gymnasts & their families. There was quite a wait for the bathroom after the awards for that session.

Pathetic! I think it’s shameful to not allow ATHLETES to bring in a bottle of water when they are competing in athletic events. My children have competed in sports for 16 years and I have NEVER gone to an athletic tournament where they don’t allow athletes to bring in water. When you question the security guards they are rude and are on a power trip. Alario Center should be embarrassed!

Public facility/Auditorium with plenty of handicap parking & very clean.
