Don’t even get me started with this place the staff with terrible except for few the pizza was hard and cold there’s literally nothing for kids so if you have kids I recommend you don’t bring them there then on top of that the pool is literally open for certain hours and when I asked they told me it’s because the worker they have can only work certain hours like are you kidding me what happen to you guys last pool attendant Ik when they had just a guy working he kept the pool open from 10am to almost 9pm maybe hire that pool attendant back last time before I recently went there was a black guy who was so helpful and always made sure everyone was ok he gave us water took our towels something needs to change so we can actually get in the pool and not to mention they still charge you a resort free when the pool is closed it’s unbelievable especially if it’s not even open

We're excited to splurge a little and stay at a casino due to the extra reward points offered on our credit card. We stayed on the 10th floor in a king suite. There are non-existent views, we could just see the parking lot. We were pleasantly pleased with the available amenities in the room and being able to walk down to the casino in a couple minutes. We were most disheartened with the cold showers every morning. I spoke to someone on the second day explained we had had two cool showers in the morning but at night time the showers were perfectly warm. They told us that they would send someone from maintenance up however the remaining mornings were also cold showers! There's also no room service unless you stay more than three nights! We weren't aware of this and it just came as a surprise. Interestingly you check in via a kiosk and we were able to check into the room without ever talking to anybody one time! 100% worth your time go to the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, We had an absolutely amazing meal there and the service was top notch, ask for Tom!

Horrible experience!!! Booked for 3 people and only had enough towels/rags for two. We requested for additional at the front desk and had to wait to get them. Next day, we requested clean ones early that morning. Never received them. Had to track the cleaning lady down that evening to get some. Door was messed up and very hard to close. Pillows smelled awful!!! There are no microwaves which is inconvenient. For the complimentary rooms you have to pay $50 per night for the deposit, versus a one time payment of $50 at other nearby casinos along with additional fees. Was told when booking that the deposit would go back on the card instantly when checking out and was told the same thing when leaving. Didn’t happen. Called and was told that it could take 7-10 business days. Was misinformed twice and definitely wouldn’t have stayed there if we knew that!!! You’re definitely not going to win any money either!! Multiple people was complaining, saying the same thing!!! Traveled from Alabama and was highly disappointed!!! 1st and last stay!!! Go to Coushatta or Lau’Berge!!! Run away from Horseshoe!!!

The updates look great.
I am traveling with my husband and 2 kids.
We parked on the second level, and the signage to the hotel and check in kiosk was horrible. We had to guess which way to go.
Walls are thin. I heard the conversation from the other guest in his room clearly... we now know he is not an Eagle fan. I called the front desk to inform them. Said security is on the way up...2 hours later at 11pm at night, my husband went to ask him to be quiet.
I went down to the front desk to ask for more towels as we only had 1 set. Since we checked out, we are still waiting for the towels. I had to ask a lady cleaning a room for some, and she only gave me 2 additional small towels, so the 4 of us had to ration 1 big towel.
I notice the pool is only for 21 ans up so this will not be a place to bring my kids back too.
And what's the deal with no food on the casino floor...
I wanted to take a short cut through the casino to my room instead of having to walk all the way around and security said no food. I wasn't gambling yet...I just wanted to get back to my room.
Will continue with the Golden nugget in the future.
Lots of service issues need to be worked out.

We only visited the casino. It’s off the beaten path and the casino is a bit small. But. It’s clean, very welcoming and even though smoking is allowed. You can’t tell. We’ll go back
Nearby activities: It’s not far to drive but there are no places walkable from here.

We decided to take a last minute trip to Lake Charles this past Sunday. After looking at the various hotels in the area we opted to try Horseshoe (formerly Isle of Capri).
We have been to Isle of Capri several times (never stayed at the hotel) and we have visited the other local casinos. Gaming has always been entertaining and less tight than the other properties in the area.
We appreciate what Caesars has tried to do to the old Isle (no more neon paint and plants) by making it more contemporary. Yet, until all the renovations are done, we would opt to stay somewhere else.
First issue is signage and navigating your way to the hotel. The front lot was full (plenty of spots for upper level Caesar’s rewards members). Parked in the garage. Were quickly turned around at the visible entrance by security (cannot take bags through casino). Had to take another unmarked entrance, up an elevator to an empty atrium that had signs stating hotel check in. Yellow warning tape lay beyond that and after ten minutes we went around the tape and found 1 self check kiosk.
We would have utilized the self check but we were asked to insert our credit card for a $67 charge. We canceled the transaction (room paid in advance). Ten minutes later we found the front desk (tried calling only to be routed to the main line in Las Vegas and placed on hold - we gave up).
The staff were phenomenal. Everyone we met was courteous and helpful. We were upgraded to a river balcony after explaining our adventure. The $67 charge was a security deposit plus resort fee. If the kiosk gave any explanation of the charge we would have gladly paid.
The casino was just as fun as we remembered (can sustain play for hours); however, the number of games seemed to be less with the new ownership. No issues getting a machine just appeared to have less options.
Dining options are lacking. The only place for breakfast is a Dunkin Donuts. I have a hard time paying a resort fee with the lack of open restaurants. We left to go to the Golden Nugget for dinner.
The room and bathroom area were spacious. They are obviously going for a more contemporary vibe. Lighting, paint and carpet are on point but you can tell this is an older property.
AC was lacking and we were awakened by door slams throughout the night and some metallic sound from outside (river side). It’s a hotel but the noise level was obnoxious.
If they can fix the maze like adventure to get to the actual hotel and provide more dining (or cut out the resort fee) we would be happy to try again. As it is now, I would opt to stay at another hotel.

Smoking is horrible inside and hard to get drinks. The location is good. Pricey on the inside and atm fees are high. Keep in mind we all gamble there and $10 fee. LOUD
Nearby activities: None
Safety: Great security
Walkability: Good walking
Food and drinks: Pricey food
Noteworthy details: Their rewards card is a must get one and put in every time you play to get points. Eat before going. Get cash prior to going to casino.
