Excellent turn around time on my cylinder heads.... dropped one by Tuesday, it was done Wednesday before noon. Found I had an issue with the other one and dropped it by today at 12:30. 3:30 today they were calling saying it was ready. Great service and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.Service: Motor building

Got good service as far as service goes. Got new long block installed and started engine. Cylinders 1-4 sound like they are coming apart for 5-6 seconds then clears up as best I can tell. Smokes like a freight train. Heads still had visible rust and deposits in water ports. Will never let them touch another engine of mine.Service: Motor building

Run from this shop!I called him and told him about these issues and he could care less says surely he would have seen it (so it was me that buggered up freshly machined parts then right) basically calling me a liar or just doesn't care and offered to do NOTHING about it....When I first called them and asked about turnaround time he told me it would usually take an afternoon ended up taking a month, failed to tell me he was going on vacation soon!!! My stuff ended up sitting there long enough for a competent shop to do the work while he went fishing or whatever...Also told me one price then when I went to pick up price was significantly more, plus he buggered up nearly all my parts seriously not exaggerating.....I had to file off a couple gouges around the rod Journal because the side clearance was too tight turns out there were two big boogers from somebody being too rough with it or dropping something on it or something this is on a newly reconditioned crank too, not just some old junk crank out of a junkyard...I hate to run somebody down and I want to give people the benefit of the doubt but when every single thing they touched has damage on it marks scratches nicks and gouges it's not acceptableNot only this but I told him I was going to assemble the Pistons and rods and brought him a wrist pin so he could mock up a piston and rod temporarily for decking the block because I wanted to weigh out my rods and balance everything but he decides he's just going to assemble my rods and pistons and presses them together in such a way that the pin is very tight every single one is that way he says " ahh just sit them out in the sun they'll loosen up"... Yeah man SUREhe refuses to use a rod heater claims it ruins engines why do all the leading machine shops use a rod heater? un-freakin'-believable!Discussing wrist pin fit with him was also a little scary, a typical press fit pin will have a MINIMUM of .001" interference fit, my parts had a .002" interference fit otherwise the pins wouldn't stay put, he argued that was impossible and spewed some trash about only being half a thou or some incorrect spec, .0007 is considered by many to be a minimum interference fit on SBC wrist pin, look it up it's simple stuff to understand...After this conversation I made it perfectly clear I wanted to assemble my rods and pistons myself, he made some condescending remark about it like "how could you possibly be able to do that?" And still did what I clearly asked him not to do..Issues with workmanship:Requested block to be decked to reach .005" positive deck, meaning pistons out of the hole, this was discussed at LEAST 3 times, so when I finally get ahold of him a month later, he says he was scared to do that and had them .007 BELOW the deck, really???? I insisted we needed to hold the dimension for proper quench height and he finally agreed after trying to convince me I would never know the difference.. I believe this is why he double charged me for the deck work but I never got an itemized list of things to see the break down.Plus after doing it a second time, and claiming it was nearly .010" positive deck, they're actually .004-.006 max which is fine but a machinist can measure to .0001...Gouges on the Block deck from dropping tools on it or what???Locator dowels for trans all gouged up from sitting the bare block on its end on concrete or walking it around on them or something UNBELIEVABLE, he said, oh people usually change those out anyway... Sure man like NEVER I've had several motors put in and never change the locator dowels...Gouges on my piston skirts THANKS!*****$300 custom piston setScratches on one of my main journals on newly reconditioned crank NICETwo big dings on one of my rod journals I had to file off. SUPER JOBSick to my stomach with this shop
