Nice place, we popped in to enjoy some down time and played the games. I lost just shy of $40 and the future ex-wife won an $80 payout so we left up a few bucks.
Pleasant experience but the gaming room really stinks of nasty cigarette smoke. Idk if the air handler smoke eaters are insufficient or what, but it was eye watering excessive with stinky smoke.
We figured on doing dining while here but that didn't work out as our availability wasn't conducive to hours of operation. Impressive operation on the surface but it soon became apparent it's a dog and pony show cash cow masquerading as a legit casino.
Remember, If your not on fire you shouldn't be smoking.
Noteworthy details: Air quality in the game room was terrible....

So, I booked the hotel here for a couple of nights for my family to rest and recover. First off, a smoking casino? Didn’t think that kind of thing was still legal, but ok. As I looked around the room, I noticed it’s clean, which is very nice, and luckily the smoke from the casino doesn’t bleed into the hotel side, but I also noticed no microwave. They make you RENT them for 20 bucks a NIGHT. What kind of hotel/casino charges you to rent a microwave? Free breakfast? Nope, surcharge for that too. Or go to their restaurants Also, wanted to enjoy the pool, nope closed for the season, yet the water slide is still on and the lights are, jacuzzi is ready to go, but no one can use them. Again, what hotel closes a pool for the season when it’s still averaging 82+ degrees outside? I got the deluxe king room, said it sleeps 3. Perfect, a bed and sofa bed. NOPE, all 3 people share the bed! For the amount I paid I could have gone to Comfort Inn for the same price AND have a microwave, pool, sofa bed, and breakfast. Horrible overall and I’m more stressed out now than I was before coming here.

I am a foodie! I miss the buffet. When I play in time and money, I break for the home cooked taste. I was really disappointed.
Rooms: Very clean and neat.
Love the coffee.

We recently moved from Las Vegas to Austin Texas. We’ve been playing at Boyd casino’s for years… so naturally we came here. While this is my first time here (and I lost 2 grand) in a couple of hours. I will say that I am NOT upset because ultimately I like the atmosphere here. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I plan on winning today though (let me believe!) lol I will say that while I was playing there were PLENTY of jackpots being hit by others. Perhaps I should play the games they were playing. We shall see. The food was cold after waiting 40 plus minutes for it last night at their nicer restaurant, forgot name. But I still tipped our server and didn’t complain because she was sweet. A very hard young worker. Also the reason for the 5 stars is because I absolutely LOVE our new host. Michael, he was quick to comp our meal, he greeted us with love and respect and throughout the night not one, but five different employees talked about how much they love him. That to me speaks VOLUMES of a persons character. Thank You Michael for showing up, being present and doing your job with a happy attitude and smile! You are an asset to BOYD!
