“Are you looking for a hedgehog? This is how you get a hedgehog... Okay, I wasn't going in for a hedgehog. I was trying to get a new betta fish because I have a tank and it was going to waste. I walked in, and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help. Even though I knew I didn't, I told them why I was there and directed towards all of the beautiful options of bettas that they had in. However, I was so taken back by all of the tanks that I really just wanted to explore the store. Rows and rows of all kinds of aquatic life! Fish, crustaceans, plants, eels, and I don't know what all was there, but it was a lot. While the place isn't huge, I could've easily spent an hour just looking at every tank and enjoying all of the wildlife. Then they had some tortoises, hedgehogs, mice, spiders, probably snake? Seriously, I was just impressed by all of the selection. But, that's not why I was there. I needed the betta and a new heater and was very easily accommodated. Great store, a little pricey, but you'll probably find what you need without much of an issue.”

“This is a locally owned family business which has served west bankers for years. They have pretty much everything you need in order to grow roses, lots of other flowers, vegetables and herbs. Oh, and don't forget, trees suitable for transplanting into your yard. My favorite item: a fine selection of roses every spring, including many classic and new hybrid teas. They also have bedding plants (vegetables, flowers, herbs), seeds, and all the miscellaneous garden stuff - everything from manure to assorted organic and not so organic fungicides and bug sprays. Plus, the owner and many staff members are knowledgeable about local gardening and can give hints.”

“Sometimes I walk there and take a car back or visa-versa. Today I took a car there & back. I spent $60 and it was worth it. 4 plants, big bag of charcoal for my terrariums, other stuff. I love Mister Mike and everyone who works there. Cannot say enough good stuff, the great plants they have and all those nice people who work there. I had first discovered the Rose Garden and Pet on Lapalco and somehow figured out there's one even closer to me in Harvey--this one. I also love the Lapalco one. I try to go at least every 3/4/5 weeks, something like that, and I ALWAYS BUY GREAT STUFF!!”

“Jefferson Feed Mid-City literally saved my and my puppies' lives! I traveled from NYC to adopt two beautiful puppies in New Orleans from Take Paws Rescue (also wonderful!). On my brother's recommendation, we went straight to Jefferson Feed Mid-City for supplies the moment after I picked them up. On the way there, they were (understandably) terrified and had accidents in the car. They then proceeded to be more terrified as we got to the parking lot and I brought them into the store. They were filthy and covered with all kinds of horrible things, and I don't know what I'm doing, so they ran out of their leashes and were truly creating a disaster across the store. A very kind associate working there scooped up the puppies and put them in a shopping cart for me and consoled them with treats while I explained I had no idea what I was doing (I also meant to only get one puppy but here we are). She helped me go all over the store picking out wonderful toys, food, bowls, cushions, and everything they would need for our multi-day drive back to NYC. And they have a DIY grooming area and when I went back there with the pups it was obvious I didn't know what I was doing, and this wonderful person from Jefferson Feed rolled up her sleeves and helped me wash and dry them both, explaining how to do it the whole time.I honestly wanted to weep with gratitude, and still do just thinking about it! She easily spent an hour with us and I will never forget it. We still buy the food she recommended, and use all the supplies. The toys she suggested also truly remain my puppies' favorites many months out. Thank you SO much.Everyone go to Jefferson Feed Mid-City!! What a heartwarming experience to encounter such kindness in the world.Thank you, truly.”

“We LOVE Canine Connection! They treat the pups like they are family. They have private patio suites which allow the pups to enjoy their outside time. We love this feature as our pup loves to sunbathe. The overnight staff and webcams also give us peace of mind when we are away on vacation. “Open later than anybody else! Great shop with a wide variety of dog foods. Love the fish! We got 2 fish and 2 snails for around $15. Not bad! They said the used to have a lot more tanks and fish but had to scale back because of covid. Maybe they'll get more fish soon! Owner seems very knowledgeable about them.”

“Brought my rescue shih tzu here for his first ever groom session. I was nervous because Ive heard a bunch of grooming horror stories (not about petcetera but still lol) When I walked in I was greeted by all the employees & I actually felt welcomed. Went to the back to meet the groomer & he was very nice and asked questions which made me feel comfortable leaving Nugget in his care. I was told it'd be about two hrs and two hrs on the dot I recieved a text that Nugget was ready for pick up. He looked so handsome! His haircut was exactly what I wanted and I could tell he was treated well! I highly recommend Leonard for all ur grooming needs!”

“Always a very clean and organized store! Everything is priced out there and I've been to other petcos in the area and u can never find the price of things. Ginger is always so welcoming and always very helpful. I've been in a few times and she has opened 2 registers when a line formed and worked both so she can get the line down when they are short staffed. I always know when I come in and see Ginger is there I know my experience that day will be a great one because she is very knowledgeable and I'm going to get the best price as she always checks the online price for me! Even my dog get super excited to see when she there! Would definitely recommend the Metairie store because they know their stuff and will teach u the best way to take care of your pets!”

She also talked to me about the temperature of the water .As soon as she saw us , she greeted us and asked if “we need help?”She also explained the return policy just in case something happens to our fish .We had two large dogs with us also . “If you have a delivery here with a semi parking is litlle bit difficult,they gonna close the street for you,and you need to back up on pasenger side,but the people there are very helpfull,so it might take u some time if you are begginer but take ur time,no rush. After u back in slide the tandems all the way back and you are readdy. They start unloading me tight away,fast service.”
