Monday 4/01/2024, Me and my wife went to J&F Aquatics to purchase a pleco aka algae eater for her aquarium, a female worker asked if she can help us, we told her what we wanted so she proceeds to go the owner (who was in the process of cleaning a aquarium) to ask him about the price of the algae eater, which was over priced @ $25, but I was willing to pay. But anyway as we were waiting for the owner to finish doing what he was doing so he could help us, my little brother entered the store and quickly exited the store because he was on his cell phone, the owner yells out... "WHAT DO HE WANT"?!?! so I told him that he's my brother, so the owner says... "Oh Ok", but let's say if it wasn't my brother, and that could've been a paying customer and the owner was very rude and unprofessional. Now keep in mind, the owner never properly greeted us as customers, but when my brother walked in, the owner went straight into defense mode like my brother wasn't welcomed in his establishment, now if you ask me, It felt racial. This is not the first time me and my wife came to this establishment, I spent a lot of money in this establishment, I read a lot of reviews saying that the owner is very racist, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but after what happened Monday I will never go to J&F ever again!!!!Mr. Mike and the staff at Rose Garden is way nicer and more welcoming to their Black customers!!!!

Went in today to search for cichlids for my 75 gallon aquarium. Met Mr. John, nice guy‼️ He had a wide variety of cichlids! Ended up purchasing 2. I’ll definitely e back for more!

After all the bad reviews, I had to go here to see for myself. Wasn't the nightmare I thought it would be, but it wasn't great either. Mainly cichlids, which was disappointing.

If I could give this a 0 it would be 0. We recently bought a turtle for our daughters birthday and we immediately noticed that it’s shell was soft. 6 days later, we found him dead. Do not recommend. Terrible lighting, cloudy tanks and it smelled DISGUSTING. Reporting to friends of ours at the SPCA

Good selection of fish, but very smelly store even for a pet store. Lots of mistreated fish and animals in general. Was gonna charge me $5 each for neon tetras when all other stores around would charge $2-3 each just puts into perspective how pricey they are. Not a huge fan, will rarely visit. Go to Causeway Pets or 50 fathoms pet shop if you want quality!

Ok place if you're looking for fresh water pets only. Selection is decent. But it has a strong pet atmosphere.

The people are nice, the store is a little funky, and not in a good way. I wouldn't go here with a wheelchair, it's very tight fitting. I think it can be a successful store with some changes.

Are you looking for a hedgehog? This is how you get a hedgehog... Okay, I wasn't going in for a hedgehog. I was trying to get a new betta fish because I have a tank and it was going to waste. I walked in, and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help. Even though I knew I didn't, I told them why I was there and directed towards all of the beautiful options of bettas that they had in. However, I was so taken back by all of the tanks that I really just wanted to explore the store. Rows and rows of all kinds of aquatic life! Fish, crustaceans, plants, eels, and I don't know what all was there, but it was a lot. While the place isn't huge, I could've easily spent an hour just looking at every tank and enjoying all of the wildlife. Then they had some tortoises, hedgehogs, mice, spiders, probably snake? Seriously, I was just impressed by all of the selection. But, that's not why I was there. I needed the betta and a new heater and was very easily accommodated. Great store, a little pricey, but you'll probably find what you need without much of an issue.

Came into the shop today with my husband to look at African cichlids. Really nice store and Mr. John was very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely helped us with any questions we had and offered advice for fish keeping. Picked out a beautiful Red Dragon Flowerhorn and couldn’t be happier! Thanks John and we will return for sure when we are ready for those Peacock Cichlids!! Thanks again for your advice and help!

Love love love this pet shop! It has gone UP in the years! Amazing workers, and every time I walk in animals are always fed, and nice and chunky! Love it here! Love watching the fish and talking with the employees, the owner is always really helpful even when I don't buy something he always answers me questions because I'm very curious lol! I definitely recommend!

This is genuinely just animal abuse. I knew there were some weird vibes from there, the tanks aren’t clean for the fish, they had the betta fish full grown btw in small little BOWLS not even tanks, they don’t have big enough enclosures for reptiles, checked the reviews and they have the same thoughts as me, it smells terrible in there, all the birds are in one little place and rodents are in one little place. They’re kept in such bad conditions. The quality and treatment there is unspeakable. This place needs to be shut down immedi

It was cool. I just didn't like that they didn't have any black employees
