I love Dr Poynter! He is straight to the point and doesn't sugar coat the issues! Tells you what the problem is, gives you your options, and proceeds if you want or won't if you dont! He can't force you to do the right thing but he will do WHT he has to do to figure out "your plan" I see the negative reviews and I'm shocked! Unless you work at a veterinary facility you won't understand what goes into the process! He loves animals and is a great vet! I won't go anywhere else!

This guy is a joke. A friends dying cat was taken in here by her dad and he was told that he could not be with the cat while putting her to sleep! Two years ago when I had to put my own cat down (at another vet) her and I were both allowed to be in the room. This guy obviously doesn’t care about the animals or people that they love. Stay away from this place.

My father brought my 18 year cat in who is suddenly dying into be euthanized. Dr. Poynter took the paperwork balled it up in front of my father and, told him he could not hold my cat while she passes. So I called to confront him and ask him about it; “Are you the person who balled up the paperwork in front of my dad?” He was dead silent because he’s obviously a coward who gets off on the cruelty.I was able to go with a friend to be with him and his pet during euthanizing. I have NEVER heard of someone refusing a pet parent their last moments with their animal. Do not trust this person with your pet. I will be posting this on all social media platforms so no one bothers you by giving you any business or money and I will be reporting your license. You really thought you would get away with bullying an older man?? You’re so pathetic you’re answering your calls bc I doubt anyone would want to work at your office!

I took my kitten to my vet. Hes been my vet. But after the experience I had he will never be again. And neither will my friends that uses him. I took my 4 month old kitten. I told him my kitten could possibly have an injury cause it was in my son's room. Im sure if he woke him he sent it off bed. When kitten came out I picked it up. Set it by his food bowl. He fell over. I picked him up and he screamed. Took him to vet. Told him he would not eat or drink. He could not stand and walk. And he could have an injury. He treated him for ear mites and worms and put fluids in his sides and said he had upper respitory infection. Charged me 227.00. My kitten suffered 4 days in severe pain with internal injury. And as bad as he was he was only worried about treating ear mites and worms. And get 227 00 out of me. He should have done an xray he would have saw the injury and I would have put it down. It laid and cried in pain 4 days. Suffered so severely at the hands of him. When it never should of had to suffer that long. But he made sure he was wormed and ear mites were done before he suffered 4 days and died. He just made money off of me and has no conscious of what my kitten had to go thru. So if you want your pet do not take a chance with him. It can cost your pet its life like it costed mine. But evidently it's just about money. Cause he sure need my 227.00. And let a kitten die just so he could make a little money off him. I hope he feels good about a sweet kitty that suffered cause he was just out after the money of worming and ear mites before getting kitty well first. Be careful and take your pet else where. Its not worth the chance I took.

You couldn't pay me to bring my pets to any other veterinarian. I have only been with him a couple of years but extremely happy that we found him. Very considerate, very knowledgeable. I find it extremely diffi ult to believe that the people who gave a 1* bad review actually brought their pets to this doctor.

I would give 0 stars but that's not an option... Called to ask a question and the guy that answered was EXTREMELY rude and Unprofessional.... I'm not one to make these kinds of reviews but that was Really Uncalled for... I will NOT REFER anyone to this place...

Very rude. I had brought my dog in for seizures and after +$500 it was claimed that she had a protein deficiency. Okay fine. We fixed her food. Later she has "sinus issues" (granted she was from a dapple x dapple dauschund so health risks were clearly given) meaning her eyes stayed watering and he said it was allergies. Ok. Cool. She later started having swelling around her lymph nodes which after expensive testing was confirmed to be cancer (my guess is lymphoma) WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN DETECTED MUCH EARLIER (ABOUT A YEAR EARLIER) IF HE WOULD HAVE DONE A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH ON THE "SINUS ISSUES" AND. SEIZURES. Anyways. Not his fault. Of course many dont consider cancer until its extreme to avoid panicing the owners. After the results came in (after she was already swelling really bad) he wanted us to come in to discuss treatment but at that point treatment was to far gone so we decided not to stress her with the vet visit and to let her live the rest of her life with low dosage Tylenol and comfortable naps and endless love. Anyways, me being a concerned dog mom I called his office to ask what are the best methods to keep her comfortable (warm compress or cold compress) and he said that since I wasnt on the bill (my aunt who i live with is (I'm 18 so I'm not like a d*** kid trying to waste his time) but I wasnt given time to explain that she works 6am to 5:30pm so guess whos taking care of her?!) And he hung up. Ok. I let it slide as professional protocol. After that we didn't see him at all because everyone was rubbed the wrong way by that. We had to end up putting her down when we saw she wasnt wanting to be active anymore but we took her somewhere else. Fast forward to now we just recieved a shots reminder. Even if she was alive how is a routine shot going to help????
