Warm welcoming traditional Episcopal Church in downtown Shreveport. On the National Historic Landmark registry. The interior is breathtakingly beautiful with seating for 400! The pipe organ sounds magnificent. This jewel is hiding in plain site, across from the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

Holy Cross Episcopal Church do not tolerate people of other beliefs and push their rituals on those who come for fellowship. TOLERANCE was not found here in my experience.

It held a beautiful, sung Episcopal service. The church is GLBTQ friendly. The church is a massive historical gem that is on the National Register Of Historical Places. The interior is immense, vaulted and all wood. The acoustics are incredible. You could hear someone speaking from the lectern all the way back to the rear of the church without amplification. There is a huge, powerful organ in perfect working order. It was so thunderous I could feel it's vibrations throughout my body.

This brown marker stands in front of the beautiful Church of the Holy Cross and points out the early history of the church. It reads, "Bishop Leonidas Polk. Conducted First Episcopal Service in Shreveport March 24, 1839. St. Paul's Church Formed 1845. Renamed Grace Church 1851. Renamed St. Mark's 1859. St. Mark's Relocated 1954. Holy Cross Organized 1954." Unfortunately, the church was closed at this time but I did have the opportunity to appreciate it from the outside. It's quite lovely.
