Let me start by saying I have used Walpole for many years and have always been a happy customer, up until the last 1-2 yrs. The first thing you notice when you walk in is 50 people running back and forth, phones ringing non-stop, they've become so busy that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. It's a total cluster! Too busy for their own good and overall work quality and customer experience suffers greatly because of it.
I'll break this review down to my last 4 visits:
1.) Purchased new tires at a decent price, 2 days later, the pressure was low in 2 of them due to the tech not properly sealing the bead of the tires. This took another whole day to get resolved.
2.)Simple drop off for an oil change & rotation. After a full day they call to say they don't have the right filter & oil on hand and need to order. No problem, it happens. The next day, they still didn't order what they needed, long story short, it took 3 full days for oil change & rotation.
3.)Had an issue with an engine component, that work was completed just fine, however when the car was returned to me, my check engine light was on (it was not on when I brought it in) Worlds biggest coincidence I guess? Nothing was ever said about the engine light being on after the work was completed. I had to mention it. Which tells me they DO NOT test drive the vehicles after their work.
4.) Most recently, brought in for another oil change & rotation. Was originally quoted $93 over the phone, yet was charged over $200 on checkout on account of the "oil being expensive".
I try my best to be loyal and support local, proven by several different vehicles and literally thousands of dollars brought into this shop over the years. The staff are always nice and friendly, but everything else has gone way downhill.

We just stop by cause my car tires dry low pressure, and we ask if they can check on those tires and they was amazing and so kindly.

My family has been doing business with them for many many years. I don’t like to go anywhere else unless they tell me they can’t fix it. Then they’ve been nice enough to recommend another shop. Today I had to take my truck in because I couldn’t get the battery cables off to put a new battery in. I prayed all the way there that my truck wouldn’t stall out again. I'm a DIYer but this time it was beyond my power. They did an awesome job as always. I’m SO grateful they were able to take care of my truck today. .

Incompetent Mechanics, Awful Work Quality, Laughable Customer Service
Do not bring your vehicle into this place. I came in in early March with a simple issue of replacing a wheel stud. The “mechanic,” Rabb, who worked on it made matters worse. Instead of fixing it, he left me without a new wheel stud and just a half drilled-out stud I couldn’t get out. I took it in 6(!) more times, only 3 of which they actually worked on it. I was told to come in at 7AM multiple times just for them to tell me they couldn’t get to it when I went in. After all this, I thought it was finally fixed, but this is Walpole. They can’t do anything right. The stud was installed incorrectly and fell out, cracking my brake shoe. It had now been 2 months and the issue was worse than when I started. Dealing with Doug on its own might’ve been worse than them destroying my truck for 3 months. He is far from able-minded and has quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever seen. An absolute nightmare to work with. I spent 3 months dealing with the incompetence of Walpole and left with nothing but a broken parking brake and a complaint filed against them. DO NOT go here if you want someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

On Friday, February 16, 2024, I had an appointment with Walpole to put 4 new tires that I had purchased elsewhere on my 2019 Nissan Maxima. The appointment went well and I left about an hour later. Shortly after leaving, I noticed my tire pressure sensor was on indicating low tire pressure in one tire and the other 3 tires had too much air. I was almost home and realized that Walpole was already closed so I could not return and have the correct air placed in all 4 tires. Thus, I had to go to another company for assistance who readily assisted me so I would not have a flat tire the next morning. I returned to Walpole on Saturday and spoke with Doug about the mishap that happened on Friday. I also provided him pictures that I had taken on Friday showing the air pressure in each tire. The pic also showed that the tire sensor was on as well. I explained to Doug that I was a repeat customer and I never had any issues before with Walpole's service. Walpole had serviced my previous vehicle, 2011 Toyota Camry on numerous occasions and I have always been pleased with their customer service. Doug's whole goal was to make me a happy customer. He apologized for what happened and asked what could be done to make things right. I told Doug a courtesy oil change would make me happy since I always come to Walpole for my oil changes and I would be satisfied with this remedy. Doug said he could not make the actual decision but would consult on Monday with other personnel and contact me on Monday with the outcome. Feb 19th, I received a text from Doug explaining that my next oil change would be free and they added in a free tire rotation as well. I am very pleased with the resolution of this matter. I have been a customer of Walpole for years and I will continue to bring them my business. Doug and others went above and beyond to take care of me as a valued customer.

I had a tire blowout. They luckily had the exact tire my car needed and were able to replace my tire even though they were going to close in half an hour when I got there. Would recommend

When my car broke down (alternator failure) on a cross country trip ON the afternoon of Good Friday, Ruston Walpole was quickly able diagnose the issue, procure and install a new alternator all in the matter of about an hour. Eternally grateful for the staff at Walpole helping me get back on the road, exceeding ALL expectations on a holiday weekend!
Walpole was instrumental in turning a potential 2+ day impact to our trip into a mere 3 hour delay!

Was driving thru from out of town and got a flat on my trailer tire. Super nice folks at Walpole got me in right away and fixed the tire in less than 15 minutes. I wish I lived closer because this would be my shop from now on!
