This place is great! The owners and staff are top notch. The quail hunt was a blast and the lodge was very nice and comfortable. We will definitely be back and make an overnight trip out of it.

We went to Dry Creek on New Year weekend. Our GPS took us on a wrong dirt road (ONLY USE DIRECTION FROM JOSH (owner) AFTER GETTING OFF FROM THE HIGHWAY). We were literally in the middle of nowhere with deep water puddles and fallen trees on the dirt road.I called Josh to confirm that we are on the right path, he asked the road we were on and GPS had no name for it. I told him the intersection we turned earlier and he confirmed it. So we kept on going and around 1.2 miles in to the dirt road got stuck in 20 inch deep mud hole, Cell phone signal was bad and I couldn't reach Josh so we called 911. In the mean time from my wife's phone we were able to talk to Josh. He had no idea where we were and we were so nervous to figure out and send him our GPS coordinates. Josh kept calm and keeps assuring us to stay calm. Then he sends two trucks to look out for us as he knows the area well and had some idea what trails have bad conditions. While we were waiting I moved my truck back and forth and after 7-10 minutes of it we were able move out of the hole that was roughly 20 yards long. We went to Josh's range that was about 5 miles away. We all were shaken; Josh and his son (Clayton) showed us the rest room where we all freshen up. In the mean time Josh put on freshly brewed hot coffee (it was 40 degrees), Iced tea, and soda for us. While the girls relaxed with their mom at the ranch, Josh took me and boys out in the field on his mule.I have been hunting for over 15 years and mostly on private ranches like Dry Creek in TX. Let me tell you it has 1000+ acres of very well maintained land and the prey condition is the best I have seen anywhere in my experience. We harvested a big beautiful hind within 30 minutes and Clayton processed it and put it on an Ice box with Ice in no time. We were done with our hunt within 2 hours that includes relaxing in the ranch as well...I will give Josh and Dry Creek 5 stars for their hunt quality and service BUT if God forbids any thing scary happens like this, you know by the grace of God, Josh has your back. I am Dry Creek customer for life now, and coming back next year with my dad and brother.

My friend and I went quail hunting yesterday afternoon (for the first time(and we had an absolute blast! Great guide and most importantly, great people. We made some friends during the trip and we can't wait until we come back in March. By the time we got back to the front office/lodge, all of our quail had been cleaned and ready to go. Dry Creek has a great operation and we look forward to hunting with them again in the near future.Dave Laiche
