Extreme unprofessionalism and zero bedside manner. A better suggestion would be Perkins Road Veterinary hospital. We’ve been to several, and Dr. Curt Ritchie was exceptional. Wound repair and pain control was severely lacking at Cypress, but fortunately, our pet received proper care at Perkins.

175.00 for a cgm that not put on properly. And barely hangs on.
Went in and they found a mass and high blood sugar. My doc said, they should of addressed the mass first to make sure it wasn't fatal instead of the diabetes.like they did.
Also, after seeing results,my vet put my dog on antibiotics. I called and asked why they didn't . I was told the owner would return my call. But instead, some clerck called me with some bs explication from the attending vet. Poor customer service.

Wanted to thank Dr Mouton & staff for making this process of losing our Sweet Buddy as sweet as possible. Super caring and truly took gentle care of our boy. We will miss him but are cherishing every memory item we have of him.

Huge thank you to the team at Cypress Lake Animal Hospital. While we had an unfortunate situation, you made the best of it. Thank you for so tenderly caring for the orphaned kitten we were able to save, and for helping us choose the correct supplies for neonatal kitten care. Thank you all for caring and for helping us in a terrible situation.

Had to bring my baby in a little after 1am! Not only was I a nervous wreck due to the severity and suddenness of this emergency but my fur baby was in a lot of pain! The staff lacked compassion and understanding. They were extremely rude and entirely disgusting towards me! Then when I reacted and responded they made it seem like I was the problem. Narcissistic behavior and very unprofessional! So if this happens to you, do not feel that you are. If you have to clap back on them due to their actions and lack of, you are justified and you are validated in my human opinion! Their lack of empathy made it worse for both me and my baby. 400 dollars later I still had no answers and was told to bring her to her vet on Monday! The staff even cursed at me and then when I matched their energy I was told I could take my fur baby elsewhere which next time I most certainly will. If you want to pay to be treated like trash I recommend going here! Their version of events will be defensive and deflecting knowing they are horrible to people during their trying times!

This place is an absolute scam. Last night my dog had an emergency and I felt the need to bring him in (which I have never had to do before), so I was very stressed out. As soon as arriving the lady seemed nice…then they took my dog to the exam room to check him out then shortly came back outside. They came outside with about 14 different charges that came to a total of $864. Since that seemed high, I asked for details. No one could really tell me exactly what the charges were and I got a bad vibe so I decided to decline and go somewhere else. The vet then came outside and was SO disrespectful and talked to me like I was stupid. I have NEVER had a bad experience at a vet until last night. Then the demeanor of the women up front TOTALLY changed. They went from being sweet to completely rude. I then said to just give me my dog back and I’ll pay the visit fee and be on my way to the next vet. Then they came out with a receipt with two shots added on to the total. When asked about it they said it was anti nausea medication, which was fine. What was not fine is that I didn’t give them consent to give that to my dog, much less charge me for it. Instead of making a big fuss I paid the bill. Then they went MIA for about 10 mins. They finally came back out with my dog and didn’t even look at me or say a word to me and walked back inside. This was the strangest most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had with a business. I suggest going somewhere else if you need an emergency vet. DONT TRUST THIS PLACE.

We love Dr. Mouton. He is so kind and he’s very knowledgeable. He truly cared for my dog both times he’s seen him. Dr. Mouton is the best vet at Crypress!

I had a deeply disappointing experience at Cypress that I feel compelled to share. Unfortunately, my visit was marked by a complete lack of compassion and empathy from the staff, particularly the front who attended to my pet.
From the moment we stepped into the clinic, it was clear that the focus was more on profit than on the well-being of my fur baby. The vet seemed cold and the least bit concerned.
What was most disheartening was the apparent indifference to my pet's discomfort. Having to put my fur baby down was hard enough. The last thing I wanted to deal with was there rude behavior. It was as if my pet was just another transaction rather than a cherished member of a family. I left feeling more anxious than when I arrived.
My family sat there and waited for 2 hours. We paid $125 for the emergency visit (meaning we didn’t have an appointment) $130 to have him put to sleep. It would have cost us an additional $200 to have him cremated so we choose to bring him home and bury him. When they brought him out after it was done he wasn’t even placed in a box, just wrapped in a sheet for my family to have to carry his lifeless body out. Dealing with losing a pet is hard enough but that was cold. After the amount we paid for a procedure that took 5 minutes they couldn’t even place him in a box.
Unfortunately, my experience at Cypress was horrible. I cannot recommend this clinic to fellow pet owners who are looking for a place that truly cares for their animals. Find a vet that values both the health of pets and the peace of mind of their owners - but cypress is not that place!!!

These people do not care about your animal! Do not trust them especially in an emergency because all they are interested in is getting money from you they are heartless! I had money and still they wouldnt help me my dog suffered and died tonight and they did nothing to help him!

Dr. Kristen, Dr. Rhett, all of the vets, and staff are absolutely wonderful at Cypress Lake Animal Hospital. When Bruiser arrived at the hospital on Sunday evening, he was extremely ill. He had to be admitted to the hospital. We were put at ease by Dr. Rhett. He informed us of all the tests, bloodwork, and care that Bruiser was going to receive along with cost. The communication was incredible. We were updated on his condition every morning and evening. Bruiser received amazing care while he was there. The incredible veterinarians are the reason Bruiser is home and improving every day. Dr. Kristen and Dr. Rhett should receive 10 Stars for their service. If you want the best care for your fur baby, you must bring them to Cypress Lake Animal Hospital.

My 50 pound catahoula puppy sliced the top part of her paw while playing catch in the yard. She stepped on metal we had no idea was there. We took her to this hospital on Saturday around 11pm due to her bleeding very heavy after about five hours. Well she is getting stitches. The Doctor was VERY RUDE AND MEAN. I had questions and she went off on me like i was a bad person. Then tried to manipulate me "your dog is extremely aggressive" "its like if i cut your finger in half" lady, i just had some questions before spending 900 dollars okay. "Your dog will become septic and if she dies i will tell them you refused treatment" i mean VERY MEAN to me for asking questions. 1. my dog is not aggressive she is very dramatic at the vet you can look at her and she will cry. 2. please lower your voice when speaking to me as it is 1 am and you are charging me 1100 for two stitches And antibiotics. 3. I have the right to ask questions about the severity of the cut, recovery, and risk. I would like to say i will never be back but this is the only pet er in my area. I have two family members that are vet surgical techs who told me to stay home and treat at home btw. I was worried about her bleeding so against their recommendation i took her. Smh. Just sad she was this rude.

One of my cats was recently diagnosed with feline leukemia, they told me that I had declined testing on their last annual visit. Yet they were still given the vaccine. Why would I decline a test that I’m still being charged for, and why would they give a vaccine without testing them first. Even I know a cat cannot be given the vaccine without being tested first, if they are positive, they cannot receive the vaccine. When I brought my other two cats in to have them tested, they told me I missed the appointment because it was scheduled for Thursday. I just made the appointment Tuesday, and my only day off are Fridays. It ‘s not like I’m stupid and can’t remember my scheduled day off is Friday, which is the same every week. They were supposed to refund me $722, but instead charged me an additional $722 so my checking account was over drawn for 3 days. I’ve never seen an animal clinic or any business for that matter, so poorly ran as Cypress Lake Animal Hospital, and if you love your pets, I would definitely look for another animal clinic and avoid this place at all cost.

On 5/18, a little after midnight, my senior cat suddenly collapses and we brought him in. During the entire experience, the staff was very kind and patient, despite it being the middle of the night and me being very upset and frazzled. We ended up having to put him down due to cancer, but the vet explained everything and the techs and staff were all kind and compassionate. It was a hard, awful night, but we got to take our time and really say goodbye even though it was sudden. They gave us the option to get him cremated, which we took, and they managed to ship his ashes to us within a week. Thank you for helping us in such a hard time.

I have known this clinic for more than ten years. I've brought over a hundred foster dogs here through rescue work, plus my personal dogs. I’ve worked with them for routine care, complex surgeries, mysterious diseases, and emergencies. I can say this with great confidence: the level of veterinary medicine practiced by Dr. Kristen and her team is the best I've ever seen anywhere in the U.S. at any price point. Nobody will work harder for every patient’s well-being than the folks inside this clinic. I've lost count of the number of dogs I know who are still alive because of something special this clinic did to save them.
It's not widely known, but people come in from all over the country to consult with the owner, Dr. Kristen, on “unsolvable” medical mysteries. She’s “known” for that. I’m even aware of some other practicing vets who “low-key” bring their own personal dogs to her for help at night when they can’t figure something out. She thinks differently than other vets and spots obscure, subtle clues others miss—and if there’s a solution, she will not stop looking for it. She also is experienced with very complex surgeries that almost no other non-specialty clinic will do--and she's fantastic at doing them.
Dr. Kristen is brilliant, compassionate, and dedicated to solving the most challenging cases to save her patients. Very few vets have the skills to work at this level on the most difficult, urgent cases, much less excel under the pressure of an endless stream of emergencies and “hardest of the hard cases” – but she’s found a small group that does. Her high standards extend to her staff—even her vet techs are outstanding in skill level and compassion. I’ve seen them lying inside a kennel with a dog cuddling tenderly so it wouldn’t “give up.” Clients rarely see the profound kindness for each animal in that back treatment room, but it’s next-level. When my heart dog with cancer needed frequent blood draws, I’d take him at night to see Ashley because she made it so easy on him—he didn’t even seem to notice that blood was being drawn and thought we were there to “visit.” When he crossed the bridge, Dr. K was with me, helping me through a tough time and creating a sacred, honored passage for him.
It's worth the short drive from B.R. to Prairieville, especially for emergencies. Yes, ER care costs more than regular appointment care – that’s true at ANY veterinary ER with round-the-clock care – and this is the team I want helping my animals when lives are on the line. I'm grateful that we have such a wonderful resource in the Greater B.R. community!

I brought my dog in as a transfer from another vet because they didn't have the equipment to keep my dog alive but Cypress did. The vet techs were so nice, as well as the front desk. Dr. James came in and explained everything to me and was also very nice. Dr. Gordon on the other hand, was not. They said I had to pay a $2000 deposit in order to give my dog the medical treatment that she required. They quoted me a total of $3000-$3500. My dog had a mass blocking her airway. Dr. James came in and said that even if they remove it, there was still a chance it could come back. I made the decision to put my dog down. Dr. Gordon came in asking me if I had any family or friends that would apply for a care credit card for me so that I could pay the deposit. I told her that I took out a loan to pay them but I wouldn't get the money until Monday. I told them all I could pay was $150. I was told that the owner wouldn't be okay with that. Dr. Gordon came in again and asked me to press my family and friends for money to pay the deposit. Dr. Gordon came back and said, "the owner has agreed for you to pay Monday but you have to show us an email showing that you were approved for the loan." Dr. James came in and told me they had to incubate my dog because she was turning blue. Dr. Gordon came in again, pressing me for money. I finally said, " I want to take my dog home. I cannot give you money that I don't have." Dr. Gordon replied, "well, we could've worked this out another way, financially." How? I don't have the money you want right now and I cannot make it appear from thin air. One more girl that worked there came in and asked me for the letter from the bank showing I was approved for a loan. I told her that I won't get the money till Monday and that I wouldn't get the full amount to pay them anyway. They had me sitting in an exam room for quite a while before I said again, "I just want to take my dog home at this point." They finally pulled me to the back and put her to sleep. I will never bring another animal to this place again. Dr. James was amazing, the staff was amazing, but Dr. Gordon was terrible and just worried about if I was going to be able to pay or not.
