The perfect little gallery representing just a few artists. We were drawn in by the art. We went to the door sometime before 11 and the sign said they would open at noon. As we were turning around a cute voice shouted "I'm right here"! Eileen was filling in for Carol and had driven in to open the gallery. We waited while she turned the lights on and got opened up. What a treat. She knew/knows the artists personally and much about their lives, inspiration etc. I just loved the art and the subjects chosen by the artists. I also was intrigued by the use of found material as canvases. A thunderstorm came thru so we had an excuse to linger In the gallery speaking to Eileen. She pointed out the significance of certain subjects and tied some of the art to events in the artists lives. We left w only a small post card but hope to purchase something way more significant in the future. Perfect stop on Royal Street. Oh and Eileen gave great tips for visiting some other great restaurants and sites.

Carol and Kalle were so gracious, knowledgeable and kind. My friend bought a giclee and we went to mass at St. Jude's, where Bill's funeral was held. What a great experience. Loved it so much we are going back 9 months later (from California) and The Hemmerling Gallery is tops on our sightseeing tour! Can't wait!!
