Not too bad of a gas station. They have plenty of options for snacks and a pizza place.Restroom was fine, which is always appreciated.Very conveniently located off the freeway. Easy and fast access off and back on the road.

I stopped here for gas and drinks on my way back to New Iberia. I spent $44 on gas and $12 for a car wash. Inside the store, I picked out two 20oz drinks. At the register, I was told it would be $0.50 to pay with a card because it was less than $5.00. This “fee†is posted nowhere in the store and it was communicated to me by the cashier. I thought this was bad form - charging a petty fee when I just spent a substantial amount of money at the gas pump (and the cashier was aware of this). I get that sometimes a fee is charged for using a card, that's fine. But, per Visa regulations, a fee can only be charged if the payment takes place via an alternative method such as online or by phone. Visa regulations also state that the fee must be clearly disclosed in writing prior to the sale. I will admit that because of this fee, I intentionally used a rewards credit card that will ultimately cost the owner more to process than a standard card. The fee, I was told, applies for credit OR debit cards, so why not? I understand that it's not the cashier's fault, but the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Credit card merchant fees are tax-deductible, and debit cards cost virtually nothing to process. I have already reported the issue both to my bank and to Visa, and I've initiated a chargeback for the “fee,†which is literally on the receipt as “fee.†Terrible.
