Good Seafood menu. Good Desserts.
Good service. Worth the time and know the location. Parking on the boat ramp. Reasonable prices.

This restaurant is a gem. Locals clearly know about it as there were many people dining with their friends. We ordered seafood poboys which were delicious. The shrimp and oysters were perfectly fried not over cooked. The bread was a softer freshly baked bun style rather than crispy New Orleans French bread. The flavor of this bread was delicious. Also good we’re the homemade onion rings!! French fries were ok. Enjoyed the view and the food.

Awesome waiter, great selection of items on menu, quick turn-a-round from ordering to placement on table. View was great of False River with all open windows, only exception was one boat tied off to the wharf along the restaurant and due to the winds and waves every time the boat pulled away from the wharf the restaurant physically shook. NO Joke, I have sea legs and the restaurant physically moved/swayed until the boat left and the restaurant stayed still even after another boat tied off to a different portion of wharf the wind and waves was pushing it into the restaurant and not pulling it. Price was was very average/normal.

The sensation salad and fried green tomatoes are not to be missed! Very friendly wait staff. Loved sitting by the big windows and watching the boats on the river.

Have eaten here many times and it is usually good. Today however, while the food was good the service was horrific. I understand that they have staffing issues due to the lingering effects of COVID, but that does not explain being there two hours for lunch, especially when we arrived when the place only had two other tables occupied. We were seated and ordered about fifteen minutes later. About twenty minutes after that another couple sat down next to use. They ordered and their food came out about ten minutes later - mind you we still had not been served our appetizers. I looked over and they ordered the same appetizer (fried crab fingers and boudin balls) They also had some type of soup. They were then served their entree and we are still waiting tor our appetizer. About an hour after we ordered we finally got the appetizer. About thirty minutes after that we go our entrees. Other tables and had come and gone before we even received out meal. COVID does not explain this in any way shape or form. I am not sure if our waitress (who seemed to disappear for about thirty minutes) is responsible, but regardless this is unacceptable -COVID or not.

Lunch with a group of friends several had not been there and we’re anticipating great food from recommendation of the others. Very disappointing. A feature on the lunch menu coq au vin bore mo resemblance to this classic French dish. Chicken content was sparse and stringy, not a whole piece anywhere in it. There were carrots and mushrooms but terribly overcooked . All in a flavorless brown gravy accompanied by some awful overcooked green beans. Service was good given this was a large group. Surroundings very pleasant and a great view of False River Lake.

Hoped for good food as this was a Louisiana restaurant around since 1926. However, this is one of those restaurants that has one sauce and it puts it on everything. We ordered an eggplant appetizer, had the sauce. I got a soft shell crab with pasta. Same sauce. Husband got the eggplant napoleon. Same sauce. Trouble is, I didn't like the sauce! I ate my soft shell crab and that's all I got! Not even a salad or vegetable with the meal! Order soup of the day, which was oyster and artichoke. Not an oyster in the cup, and barely a leaf of artichoke. None of the food was hot. Got one refill on the tea. Only good part was dessert, which I ordered as I was still hungry after the watery soup and one soft shell crab. But no fill on my drink to have with my dessert. Why do restaurants do this? Don't they think we'd like to wash down that rich ending of the meal? Bill was almost a hundred bucks. Wish we had just gotten corn dogs at the local gas station, would have been a better meal. How this restaurant has survived all these years in Louisiana is beyond me.
