Do not use them. I opened an accountant with them and they drained my funds with all kinds of miscellaneous fees. Thievery

My fiancé went into this bank in Harvey this morning wearing an Anti Biden shirt and before they would help him they made him change because it was offensive to others around.. my fiancé and our family has been banking with Whitney for years. How are people so sensitive that we can’t just handle a simple bank transaction without people getting offended?

I’ve been a Whitney customer for 11 years now and this review is based on a series of negative experiences I’ve had at Whitney since being bought by Hancock Bank. At one point the bank employed people who simultaneously could work with you and who cared about their customers. Since Covid, they’ve either laid off, bought out, or asked some of their best employees to retire early, ushering in a managerial style and change in culture. This style is based primarily not on community banking but on doing what is best for the corporate office in the short term, I’m emphasizing short term. So far this year they’ve taken away the option to transfer savings acct funds from their website and their app (they literally decreased functionality), why? I have no idea. Just the other day They charged me over $200 in overdraft fees on a business account over the course of 4 hours for charges less then 10 dollars…I had 3 other accounts with money in all of them they could have transferred or drawn from. In the end they only refunded me 1/2 of these overdraft fees. Extremely predatory. Considering how much legal action there has been lately around using these methods to generate a profit from less well off clientele and fledgling businesses. I’m surprised a bank that advertises themselves as serving the community would resort to methods like this to make a profit, sure you made $100. But you’ve permanently lost a customer. Any of the inconveniences I’ve dealt with as a result of being a small bank no longer are outweighed by their customer service. All in all Whitney Bank has less functionality then their larger counterparts, and poorer customer service, why would I stay? They spend less on development to help its members and more on methods to increase their bottom line at the expense of there members. Overdraft fees are 36 dollars a piece btw. Also their lending practices have always been historically very tight. Honestly I’ve been extremely loyal to this company and to see how they’ve changed recently has been completely disappointing. Up until this year I always defended or promoted Whitney as the people working behind the desks had always resolved any issues I’ve had. But those days are gone. Do yourselves a favor; find a different bank or switch. Just like I’m about to.

God I hate this bank so much. Website is trash (why is the customer login buried on the site? At least the mobile site. Should be front and center on the homepage.). App is trash (I have had to go to my branch and reset my login multiple times. Have been having trouble again for the past month. It would be nice to be able to check my balance without being told my username/password are invalid, along with my answers to my challenge questions). And it is f-ing 2019; why don't you offer ATM deposits????? Come on! Also I resent the phrase "personal responsibility" on your ATM screensaver ever since y'all merged with Hancock bank. Keep your conservative dog whistling to yourself--I don't need to see you pandering to the average red-stater's demonization of the poor every time I withdraw my own money from your dumpster fire of a bank.

Been with them for years, over 30. They have had their ups and downs but now they seem to be on track with employees who are helpful and courteous. Thanks.

The ATM at this location is broken at least 50% of the time. I have complained on several occasions and have gotten no response. Whitney hasn't been the same since the Hancock merger- customer service, ATMs, and website/app have all gone downhill, which is why I'm in the process of switching banks.
