UPDATE: It has been 4 months since this nightmare from the Westin Hotel and Marriott Bonvoy Company, (parent company of Westin).I have yet to receive a legitimate response concerning my stay. Think twice about staying here. It seems like, (from the “selected” reviews), they are a 5 star hotel. It is far from that. I challenge you to investigate further and read the negative reviews. There are many negative reviews with similar complaints. My experience is as follows:I decided to valet park my car thinking it would be safer than parking in an open public parking lot. They boast about the parking garage being a safe and secure environment, 24 hour cameras, and security guards to protect your car. My car was broken into and damaged in an attempt to steal my car. There was very little to no help from the parking company, security company nor the hotel. Everyone pointed fingers of responsibility to someone else. So many outright lies from them made it impossible to make a police report. With the exception of a doorman, not a single person with the any of theses companies would help me. TWO DAYS later I had a complete breakdown in the lobby after begging the front desk to give me a few garbage bags and tape so I could cover the windows that were broken out. Really? This is supposed to be a nice hotel that prides itself on taking care of their guest. I don’t think a few garbage bags and tape was impossible!!! There was also a large fresh, dent and scrape on the front bumper of my car that I suspect valet services caused parking my car. Car insurance will not cover the repair. The only thing the hotel did was help me get home, (I did not live in New Orleans), and gave me three vouchers for drinks at the bar. I am responsible for the costs of insurance deductible, my costs to repair the damage valet caused, paying for travel to and from work, grocery store etc. I am the main care giver for my mother. The cost for transportation to her doctor appointments are expensive. I will NEVER stay at another Westin Hotel, or any officiates of the Westin.

I totally enjoyed my pet friendly stay! This is a GREAT location and convenient to everything. However....Let me start this novel off by saying the hotel tried to help by offering a food voucher and comping the very little room service that I had. I am only holding back a perfect score because of a fire alarm incident in the connecting shopping center that also activated the alarm on a few floors in the hotel. I was in my room on the 29th floor when the alarm sounded, and I went down all 29 flights, thinking there was a fire. There was no fire, thankfully, but my legs were jello the remainder of my trip. For the next 4 hours, the alarm continued to sound sporadically, although there was no fire. No sleep for hours and hanging out in the lobby with an anxious pooch was no fun. But again... great hotel, bad incident.Nearby activities: You are in downtown New Orleans in walking distance to favorites such as Harrah's Casino, Cafe du Monde (beignets), the French Market, Bourbon Street, and all of the French Quarters.Walkability: Walkability to the New Orleans favorite hot spots.

Great hotel. Really friendly staff. The front desk let our kids select some free candy which made them really happy. The view of the city is fantastic from all the rooms. Really enjoyed staying at the Weston. The breakfast was also really good with a nice selection of smoked salmon, eggs, smoothies and good coffee.

Overpriced and street walkers look for John's at night. It's a good place for cream of crop on men.

When we travel to New Orleans we always love to stay at the Westin. It is a great location on the Riverwalk and a short walk to everything you could want to do downtown. It is right between both the aquarium and the casino as well. It has great views of the city and the river. The lobby bar is very nice and took great care of us as well. We will definitely be back to visit.

We were given vouchers for free continental breakfast, and there wasn't any food or kitchen. bistro? The rooms, however, were beautiful.

Great view from bar area and rooms. Beds are the most comfortable I've ever been in. Food either at bar or in room also good. Just beware some sneaky fees on room service, but that is pretty much everywhere.

Bad. Really bad experience. Not forthcoming with information, deception practices between the hotel, parking and customer security. This is a follow up to my review a few months ago.I received an email a few days after my negative review. It stated that the matter would be investigated and that my information would be forwarded to the proper channels and I should receive a letter response within 5-7 business days. Absolutely nothing has been done, followed thru or any contact to me..Don’t trust anything the Mariott / Bonvoy, Wesstin hotels.Extremely disappointed!Safety: Lacking on all levels.

BEWARE OF VALET PARKING!I was charged $50 for valet parking and a week later I received an $85 ticket alleging my car was in the parking garage for over 18 hours without paying.Multiple phone and email contacts with the hotel were made with no resolution, despite all of the evidence, including my invoice from the hotel clearly showing that I paid for valet parking.I will not be staying at the Westin again, and will discourage anyone else from patronizing it, especially if driving into New Orleans and needing parking.Walkability: Close to the French Quarter

We are staying three nights here, on the second night our key card stopped. We had to take the elevator down to the front desk and the gentleman reprogrammed the card again. After going back to the room and trying it a few more times we still couldn’t get in. We found a phone in the hallway, called the front desk and told us we have to go back to the service desk. When we talked to the gentleman again he said that an engineer is coming to our room to look at it. We are now sitting on the floor in front of our room door and still waiting. It’s been around 40min and counting. This is unacceptable.
