I ordered some mother's day gifts from The Good Shop, which were shipped quickly and arrived in great condition. Great place to find fun pieces from New Orleans' local artists!

Pandemic review: I was familiar with many of the products in this small shop from before there was a bricks & mortar store. I had purchased various of their wares at pop-ups or other shops over the last few years. But I learned from a friend that they had an actual shop (and while it is not open at the moment), they are selling from their website. Ordering was super easy and they have a nice variety of items. I like that you can shop by cause as well as by type. You can't actually smell the candles from the website, but the descriptions are really good! I also like that if you finish a candle, you can return the empty clean glass to the store for a small credit.

A little blue sign caught my eye while driving home on Magazine the other day advertising locally-made, ethical gifts. With the holidays approaching, I made a mental note to stop by! Off the beaten path of Magazine St., The Good Shop is a calm, serene respite. It's a marketplace for various local vendors so not all of the items are "on brand" or cohesive. However, they are grouped together so that the organization of the store doesn't seem random. In fact, the shop is comprised of 3 rooms (shot gun style). The first room is more home goods: Think dish towels, soaps, cups and plates, candles, greeting cards, etc. There are a few clothing items as well. The second room is definitely a manly/motorcyle/rock n' roll music vibe, with clothes and books and such for the man in your life. The third room had mostly plants and plant accessories! I ended up leaving with some "restoration bar soaps" that are locally made in NOLA (duh) for $15 each; the proceeds benefit wetland restoration and oil spill cleanup. The price may seem a bit steep but I am happy to contribute to a good cause and I hope my gift recipients do too. This shop is worth a stop if you are looking to purchase something you can feel good about, whether it's NOLA-themed or not!

This place is a marketplace for local vendors. I have gotten a few things here and they have all been great quality. It's nice to see a one stop shop for local artists in New Orleans. It always feels welcoming and the people working are ready to help. I recommend this place for getting gifts for any occasion. They usually have nice candles, illustrated post cards and greeting cards, tshirts, tea towels, etc. Many of the products are New Orleans focused which is always a winner!
