Terrible, unorganized, and lacks communication. My first negative encounter was with an adoption coordinator that contacted me via text. We set an appointment for a Zoom meeting for a home inspection and was supposed to send me a Zoom link ahead of the meeting. The adoption coordinator, Leslie failed to send the Zoom link, didn’t make the meeting or respond to texts until after I escalated the matter to Monique, the organization’s director. Eventually that issue was resolved, and I completed the application process and was contacted by a foster parent for a meet and greet for a matched dog.The meet and greet never happened due to the foster parents having to tend to a “family emergency” and I was told that I would be contacted by the rescue to set a meeting. After a week of not hearing from anyone I contacted the foster parent to ask who I could follow up with and she informed me the dog was on an adoption trial with another family! If I had known this, I would not have turned down another opportunity with another organization! After this debacle I emailed the director once again and of course no response acknowledging the situation. My recommendation is to pass on using this organization and refrain from donations to cease support to an unorganized rescue.

? Unless you are WHITE the only thing these people will give you is a hard time after they happily TAKE your money for a "Application Fee!" Don't fall for it unless you are supportive of people like this! Save yourself the trouble, migraine, money, your personal information & go to SPCA NOLA 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd New Orleans, La 70114I definitely should've listened to other horror stories or even read reviews here 1st!

I got this precious angel Chowder from Take Paws, fostered heroically by Vanessa and Kelly, with the help of my beautiful friend Vickie. She has helped heal our family from a tragic loss. She is a perfect angel, largely due due to Vanessa and Kelly. We are so happy and thrilled to have this amazing pup.All my guys love and spoil her at work! Thank you for what you all do. My Daddy is smiling down at all of us!

Wonderful people who take unwanted dogs into their homes, evaluate, give medical care and love until dogs are ready to go to new furever homes. Best place to adopt from.

I’ve had mild allergies to certain dogs however, we found a schnauzer mix on Take Paws Rescue and they were so accommodating towards us! We were able to first meet her, then do a trial adoption to make sure I did not have any allergies or at least only mild allergies! Luckily I did not and we have such a wonderful new addition to our family, Miss Raven!! Thank you to Take Paws Rescue, highly recommend!!

I am in the process if trying to adopt a small dog. I am so VERY impressed with this rescue. They absolutely have their act together in helping people trying to adopt. They are more organized and really helpful in finding a batch. They have coordinators they assign to each potential adopter after your application is approved. They take the approval process very serious and want to place the right dog with new owner. I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with this rescue. I’m still in the search to find the perfect new four legged child to love. Thank you Take Paws! ?♥️

I am forever grateful to Take Paws for bringing our two sweetest puppies ever into our lives. We are based in NYC but knew of Take Paws because my brother had had a great experience with them and his pup two years ago. When a litter of puppies popped up on my instagram, I knew I had to meet them. I wasn't sure if they'd accept an application from out of state, but Leslie (volunteer we worked with) was absolutely wonderful! We were able to do a virtual home visit and she couldn't have been more helpful or informative about my many questions. When I flew to New Orleans, she generously gave me some of her own supplies for my drive back to NYC and gave me lots of great suggestions to get other things locally that I needed. Most of all, we meant to just adopt one puppy, but the two that Leslie arranged for me to meet were so precious that I had to take them both! They've brought so much love into our lives, and I'm eternally grateful to Leslie for making the adoption so seamless and fun! Thank you!Anyone thinking of adopting from out of state -- it's totally doable, and I recommend Take Paws *so* much!! They have so many wonderful dogs in need, and are absolutely up front and crystal clear and accurate as can be about the pups' health and other prior info. Leslie is particularly wonderful, but I'm sure all the volunteers are great!Oh! And amazingly, since getting back to NYC a few months ago with the pups, we've met other dogs who were also adopted from Take Paws! We have mini reunions now -- truly, amazing to see how their dogs can really be adopted from all over :).

We have owned dogs for the past 15 years. We own our house have a yard a perfect vet record of providing preventative care, and this organization denied us. They are a scam charging application fees and requesting donations. Don't think they actually want to help animals they just want to collect money.

No idea how I haven't left a review yet, but we adopted our Leo from Take Paws in June 2020, and our lives were forever changed for the better. The application process took only 2-3 days and everyone was pleasant. I'm continuously impressed by their thorough vetting before approving adoptions — They TRULY care about these animals getting second chances at suitable forever homes. What's more, the selflessness from being a foster-based rescue always amazes me.We still keep in touch with the owner and some of the fosters and they always remember our Leo! We are forever grateful!!♥️
