It’s exactly the kind of cute quirky local pack and ship place I wish there were more of these days.
Waiting in a corporate Fed-ex center etc is a chore. Pack Rat makes it cute and fun. The line goes by adorable souvenirs & practical things like office supplies. 100% yes to affordably priced holiday colored sharpies!
I found it because my printer was down. It’s one of my new favorite places. Local Nola at its best.
Growing up my Mom always called small businesses with heart and charm “we try harder places”. It’s not glossy, not corporate, it’s adorable and the kind of place we see all too often disappearing here.

“SonI had to mail an import package as quickly as possible to Dubai in the UAE from my local UPS store in New Orleans. It was stressful for me as it had to get there fast.
Brandon the manager went out his way to help me expidite it . It was going to be complicated because customs had to checkit and it was medication . Brandon kept ip with it for me as the tracking was confusing being in Dubai , many phone calls later from Dubai, Brandon got it done.

“I rented a box here when I first moved to New Orleans, and I'll rent a box again when I come back for the winter (I'm a snow bird). It's a very handy place to come and pick up mail and packages, and the staff is very personable. I live nearby but my neighborhood is known for package and mail theft, so this was a much more secure option.
The store is very community-oriented--I had a microwave to give away and they offered to let me put up a sign on their bulletin board. They printed some documents for me from email, both in color and black and white. There's a little cooler where you can buy cold drinks. You can also ship things, buy postage, buy locally made artist postcards and cards and gifts, and chat with other patrons. Very pleasant.
It's a quaint little shop across from Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop and there's a 10 minute passenger pick up spot right outside the door so if you just need to pick up some mail, it's easy to park---which is a blessing in the French Quarter.”
“I’ve come here for years and have grown fond of Lisa cutting my hair! I would give this place 5 stars, but it drives me bananas when they ask if you want to leave a tip when paying with a credit card. They give you the receipt to sign and write it in regardless, so why ask? It’s tacky and most people would tip anyway. Just hand me the receipt and I’ll write your tip down instead of announcing it to the waiting room.”
“Great spot to drop off your pre labeled packages for USPS, FEDEX, & UPS. They’re quick and scan it with receipt if you need. Carriers come by that day and pick up.
It’s good to support the local small business too as there is no difference in ship time if you drop off at a main carrier. Great spot in Lakeview ???”

When I showed up to purchase it, she cut the tube to size, at my request, and handled the art with care, making sure it wouldn’t get damaged. Many thanks to Nancy, for the art survived in my luggage.
