I would have given a 5 Star but upon trying to finish unloading my daughter's apartment, when I arrived to the gate @ 9:05, it stated it was closed. I called the customer service department( which the lady was nice) but she informed me that once it turns 9:00 you can not override the system. I had to drive home with a loaded down car instead of being able to open the gate & being able to finish my final load. I feel if you have camera there, why not let your clients have late night acces( within a reasonable time).

Public Storage is a rip off corporation. They bait and switch with a reasonable rate to get your business then after just a few months will raise it significantly. Mine went up nearly 50%. I relied on them to set up auto pay by my card. They didn't and then charged me $25 late charges. I called about it and they stonewalled me. In person service at the location was almost none. Go elsewhere. Rip off corporation.

ASH IS THE BEST! Terrific customer service! Even though the app makes the customer experience very helpful, Ash and her team have always been very accommodating with questions. Space was clean and ready for move in on time. Thank you Ash.

Really needed a spot to house my belongings between moves, and *thought* Public Storage would fill the bill. Had I realized all of this location's shortcomings prior to opening my account, I would have searched elsewhere!Climate controlled? Really? Your unit is anything but protected from the elements. Even when the A/C *is* running, the humidity is quite high indoors, and the vents (in the doorway) and multiple openings (along the interior walls) let the outside environment in whenever someone has their first-floor garage door open. Cover all your stuff because there WILL BE RAT DROPPINGS ALL OVER IT the next time you visit. Document everything, if you wish to file a complaint, and file it with corporate, not just the facility employees (see below).Aside from the visibly indifferent on-site staff (who are either overworked, underpaid, or just plain don't give a sh*t), the level of upkeep inside and outside their buildings leaves much to be desired. Did I mention that an old man essentially lives in an upstairs unit of Building B? Calls himself Gary Cooper. Will follow you around as you try to move items in/out of your own unit. Shaves and brushes his teeth at the end of the hallway. Stores his crap (perhaps literally) in the hallway with all of his worldly possessions so you cannot get around him. Futzes with the elevator so that it is NEVER operational when you try to use it. Leaves the security door OPEN every time I come up the stairs. Never wears a face covering, but sure wants to know your name and shake your hand. The only things that work reliably at the South Carrollton Avenue location are (a) the front gate, and (b) the AutoPay billing option. No refunds allowed, even if you were prevented (see previous paragraph) from vacating the month before. Wait your turn at the locked office door with any questions, and don't expect anyone to return your messages left via the mobile app.Did I mention you can enter/exit the premises freely just by rolling under the chain link fence that blows in the wind? Why have access codes and apps when anyone can come and go as they please? (He asked, sarcastically.)I kinda feel sorry for anyone with no alternative but to rent storage space here, and if they do, I hope it's pest-proof and nothing that truly needs "climate control". See photos herein for corroboration of what I've described before I warn, "Let the renter beware!"

I rented this unit online and showed up with things to store. HORRIBLE CONDITIONS. ELEVATOR BROKEN for "awhile now", according to a renter I ran into. I had to pack up car again and drive it to another elevator far down from my unit that worked, There was a 1 foot diameter patch of black mold in the floor of 'my' storage unit. Out of 6 DOORS (three by each elevator, including the exterior ones, four were WIDE OPEN and one had tape on It so it wouldn't lock. RUSTED OUT bottoms of units, in fact, rust everywhere. No one in office at 4:00 pm. There's no excuse for the disgusting conditions. I've rented at Public Storage in several states and never have I experienced anything like this. It's a prime location and should have a waiting list. BAD MANAGEMENT, the worst.

The Carrollton Ave location has HORRIBLE customer service! I have left 4 voicemails for the "manager", it's day 3 and I have not heard back from anyone! No one is ever in the office! They advertise elevators, therefore I had no problem getting a unit on the second floor (online). When I arrive to put my HEAVY items and large boxes items in storage on the second floor, the elevators are all broken! Horrible!!!!

I had the 5x10 unit for several months and was paying 59 bucks for it. Suddenly I discover that they raised the rate to almost double in one month to $107. When I talked to the district manager she had no interest in lowering the price for me, telling me some story that units were in demand so they can raise charge whatever they want. Bottom line is this company does not care about its customers. All they care about is money. That day I found out the price increase I emptied my locker. The nice ladies in the front office, who have control over the rates, were able to close out my account without the increased charge. This is the old bait and switch routine. They figure that you fill the locker and then they raise the price and figure you'll just go along with it because it's too much trouble to move out your stuff. If they had raised it maybe a couple bucks I might have stayed. But they were being greedy. Terrible business model. Now I will make sure that if I have a friend or family member looking for a good storage place I will NOT recommend Public Storage ever.

Horrible service. Strongly suggest you renting with another Public Storage location or different storage company

Was told my account was set up on autopay only to be charged a late fee. The people here are friendly, but they don't know what they're doing apparently. Customer service when dealing with the late fee charge was basically, "the computers won't let me change anything. Sorry." Very unhelpful.

I wish I could give zero stars for this horrible experience. When I rented my unit I told the manager that I had a record collection and wanted a climate controlled unit. 8 months of insane New Orleans summer heat, hurricanes and humidity later, I go to move out and everything I have is covered in mildew. My couch is ruined. My boxes are soggy. I ask the manager about it and she just shook her head. Oh that unit? That's not climate controlled. And we don't take any responsibility. My insurance covers incidents like flooding and theft, not the slow growth of mold and spider webs over everything I own. So now I get to choose between throwing my life away and moving it across the country to figure out what is salvageable. Further, they increase rent after 6 mo without telling you (what exactly am I paying for?) and their security is laughable. They also forced me to spend $20 on a new lock that won't work anywhere else when I brought my own. The gate was wide open on moving day. Spare yourself the drama and do not use this company -- especially not this terrible location.

NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! Rates higher than what was quoted online or by the 800 number. The lock we used last year at the same location was now unacceptable so we had to buy a new one and it had to be purchased from them. While we were moving out we lost the key, since the new lock was built in there was no way to remove it. We gave permission for them to remove the lock, but were not informed we needed to sign a permission form. Since we didn't sign this form that we didn't know existed they kept billing us monthly rates. We were on the phone with these very unhelpful people every two weeks and could not get it resolved.

I reserved a unit online. Only to get there and have to pay additional fees. And for a lock that you can't use anywhere else. I was also told the lift worked so that I can get my things to the second level. It did not. All the boxes for the lifts looked broken into. Terrible customer service. Dirty facilities as well.
