“I've eaten and purchased wine at Martin's for years. I'm still sad they haven't reopened the deli Uptown again since Katrina but I still go to the Metairie location often to eat. They usually have multiple specials for lunch everyday. Over many years I think there was only one special I didn't like and it was due to just a bad and tough piece of meat that was a fluke. I have to say I did an experiment with eating the "Healthy" lunch option for 3 months and I actually gained weight so it is healthy in a New Orleans dining sense but not for the size of the belly :)
They always have a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor with some very knowledgeable people to assist you. They have an amazing deli counter with all sorts of tasty looking desserts and food choices. They also have an entirely separate deli counter for a selection of some great cheeses. They also have a great sandwich and salad selection. Martin's also has pretty good & large burger that they fresh grind (so expect to wait at least 20 minutes for it) and they usually have a different daily burger special during lunch. I also enjoy the Sunday brunch here with the only complaint that I've heard is that they usually don't have bloody Mary's.
The Metairie location has a decent size parking lot but it fills up fast around lunch. On really crowded days it can be hard to find a place to sit and they sometimes run out of silverware so there can be a bit of a wait. The best bet is to get there before the noon rush so you can enjoy yourself.

“I recently visited Vino, and it was a delightful experience. I was surprised to find bottles from Valle de Guadalupe Mexico. (La Cetto)
Milton and Aly (owners) were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, offering great recommendations tailored to my tastes. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, Vino (or Wine in English) is a fantastic destination for discovering exceptional wines at very affordable prices. Highly recommended!”
“Stopped several times. Tremendous variety of really good things. The owners provides outstanding service and on occasion tasting. There are few wine liquor stores I would seek out anywhere in this country but this is one.”
“Very friendly service, despite being a bit busy when we visited.
They could tell we were foreigners and were interested in where we were from.
Ultimately, they recommended us good American Wines within the 20-35$ budget. We ended up with a Pinot Rosé, which was not my favorite, but my girlfriend loved it!
Would advise anyone in the area looking for American or European wines in New Orleans.”

301 Magazine St #105, New Orleans“Great place to get a snack, some drinks. They have a good amount of premade food, great if you are on the go, and the guy behind the counter was very kind and helpful.”
“Went there for the first time and was very impressed. I'm sold on it. I even asked if they could chill the wine for pick up and they did. I was amazed. Already looking for my next bottle”
“I cannot recommend this place enough! The service here was wonderful, the wine selection was incredible, and the knowledge of the staff was top tier. Highly recommend checking out their wine subscription service if you are a local. Loved the wine so much we couldn’t leave without a bottle!”
“Friendly service. I ordered a shrimp and catfish Poboy dressed that was a completely delicious and generous portion with a whole fish fillet. Definitely worth a trip for the po boys.”
“Good selection, reasonable prices. Checked Elio's out for the first time recently. Even though it's a ten minute walk from my house, I hadn't realized it was in the area as it's hidden behind the Mexican restaurant. Judging based on whiskey alone, the regular shelf selection was good. Found some bottles not sold at other stores in the area (Broadway Wine and Spirits or the Freret Rouses). They have a decent amount of allocated bottles behind the register and they had numerous store picks (excited to try the Pinhook store picks) Picked up Old Forester 100 proof for $25 and a Buffalo Trace store pick (375 ml) for $15. The Buffalo Trace store pick was delicious. I will definitely be coming back for my whiskey needs!”
“People and places like this are why I have fallen in love with New Orleans. We are huge believers that things happen for a reason, and discovering Grande Krewe was one of this happy kismet moments.
First of all, thank you so much to Craig at The Four Seasons Chandelier Bar. We had a fantastic conversation about experimental wines and spirits, and introduced me to Wonderbird Gin which is made in Taylor Mississippi from magnolias and rice! It isn't sold in Texas, so I was on a mission to find some to take home. After driving to the big box stores that said that they had it online, we discovered that they did not, and were told that it was discontinued. Never one to give up, we finally found Grande Krewe who immediately knew what we were talking about so we headed that way.
The shop is in a quiet part of town, and we were immediately greeted by the official greeter - Black Pearl. Pearl has traveled the world and has dined at some of the best restaurants in Paris - she of course knew about this most interesting product, and showed us that it was even by the counter - she had great taste! Her Dad Bob scooped her up (She is a black pug dog) and told us about the gin, and what made Grande Krewe so unique. If you are looking for something new, with a great story behind it, this is the place. I can't wait to get back and try one of the Thursday night tastings, and of course to see Pearl.”
“What a nice find. A well curated wine selection with a proprietor who knows his wines. I'm looking forward to trying the Gamay and the Fleurie he recommended.”
“We were in the area at the close by Saint Roche market, when we decided to walk a few steps in and enjoy a glass of wine. We almost walked right by this adorable wine spot, that seems popular with the locals. A very quaint spot. Walking in you get the ability to select a bottle of wine or a glass. There was a lot to choose from so it made the experience that much more enjoyable. I went with a nice rosé. Service was great, the environment was cozy and comfortable. I must try.”
“Favorite deli in quarter. The staff is always jovial and loves my dog. The jelly donuts near register were surprisingly amazing. There is a cook here that makes damn good babaganoosh. One of the biggest pluses here is they open early. Yes people, a business in Nola that opens before 10am despite the world work times of average person. Clean and well run. Has a old school customer appreciation style along with big selection of products.”
“Walking by Nesbit’s Poeyfarre Street Market the thing that caught my eye was the original 1984 New Orleans Worlds Fair M.A.R.T. Gondola out front. I walked in and noticed how well stocked the place was and how friendly the staff were. The have a full selection of goodies, groceries, beverages and prepared foods. There is also a nice outdoor seating area.”
“No one does it like RR Wiine & Spirits.CLEAN store, lots of parking, handicap parking, and accessible to everyone makes the store unique and its own in our community for convenient shopping”

4838 Prytania St, New Orleans“IN OVER 30 YEARS I'VE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED 1. Prepared Foods: perhaps the biggest selection in New Orleans. Some standouts: - the chicken salad is the best in the city and they can't keep it on the shelves. - they make my favorite coleslaw, lightly sweet and sour, with a bit of Creole mustard; great on sandwiches (see pic). - better cheddar is a little spicy - which I prefer. 2. Employee retention: I'd say that at least 6 employees ( management, cashier, deli, etc.) have been with this small organization since I moved back uptown 10 years ago.”

1741 McShane Pl, New Orleans“Every time I come to this store it is a great experience. The cleanliness of it an the most friendly service. I live on the West Bank and travel all the way to the east Bank to shop here. I love it an it has everything I use daily. A&M is a great store, won't find any other like them.”
8AM - 12AM
4929 Freret St, New Orleans“I don't visit Robert Market often but I found myself there today, 12/15. They were sampling wine and some fine spirits. They had the Grinch and the Coca Cola Christmas bears. It was a really nice time. I had a few samples and took advantage of some in-store specials. Well done Robert!! I'll be back soon.”
“The people was so nice especially the man who helped us put the liquor inventory into my vehicle that was actually too small for all the stuff that I was picking up but it was my first time picking up so I didn't know”
“Knowledgeable and fun workers, who somehow sell wine $5-20 cheaper than everyone in the city. $5 by the glass wines that I’ve seen as high as $15 in other bars.. a hidden gem, for sure.”
“I love this hotel. It is truly my too go to hotel. The Rooms are always clean. The employees at the front desk are always nice, and never have an attitude or make you feel like a burden.”
“You Best believe this is the best deal on a shrimp plate in the city and seasoned. Hanks supermarket is definitely that go to spot daytime or night but especially after hours. They have breakfast, chicken and seafood plates along various PoBoys. One of the best things outside the flavor are the prices very reasonable and definitely a good fix for a late night of drinking and partying. I had a shrimp platter which comes with 20 shrimp and a very nice size and season with little kick laying on top of a bed of seasoned fries. Also comes out piping hot and overstuffed pouring out the side of the plate. This is a recommended spot Anytime at sun's up or sun down, but you won't regret it. At least your stomach won't.”

1730 Eagle St, New Orleans“Sam is the man! We moved into the neighborhood about a year ago and they started carrying the beers that my wife and I drink and Mario always makes sure they're stocked. Everyday we drive past 2 other corner stores to go there because they take care of their people. The food's good and well priced too.”
“WOW this spot isFANTASTICTheir spread is outstandingI believe the sayingThere food is better thanYO mamma's. Must have come from them. Most importantly. At the end of every day. They package up all the food. Sell them for half price. their sayingNo money no hunny. If you're uptown, you just have to give them a Play?Ask for the chopsticks ? with the order. But rememberDON'T FEED THE PIGEONS”
“Good selection of cheeses and snacks. Owner is very kind and always makes his customers feel special. Even good service during Mardi Gras. I highly recommend this place.”
“Decent selection for the neighborhood. They didn’t have what I was looking for. A bit hard to get to with all the local construction. The clerk was very friendly. Would stop back in for sure.”
“BEST BURGERS & PHILLYS IN THE CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never disappointed! From the food to the cook! Always good vibes. I love coming here especially at night. I am guaranteed a GREAT MEAL!!! Better tip my guy!!! Period!”
