I had stayed at the Inn on St Peter in 2019, so knew what to expect in terms of the hotel: vintage property, one bed in room, a bathroom, the absolute basics but with NOLA charm. So my disappointment began when I thought we had booked for a great price directly through their website (not third party) and upon check-in, received an invoice for the "balance" that was double what we paid online. Telling the front desk staff this, she just said "this is what you owe now" and with few choices, we paid it.
After dropping our things in the room and heading to lunch, we came back to a wet floor and my husband's shoes soaked. The AC unit had begun leaking and when we went to the front desk again, a different employee shrugged and gave us more towels and recommended we put our trash can below the unit. We did just that and had to empty out the trash can when it filled with water every day we were there. We also did not receive a backup trash can so we took our trash with us when we left the room. I was prepared for a vintage experience and understand it's an old property but the tricky online advertising of pricing and the lack of customer service when our AC was leaking is what has resulted in this review. We will not be staying again.

Thanks Gary for making our check in a pleasant one. After booking through a second party website, my reservation cancelled. Gary so kindly accommodated me and had me in a room in no time! The advantage of booking direct. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service.

It's an old building- can't expect to be perfect. I'll stay there again. Clean, friendly staff, easy location to get to from Frenchmen and Jackson Square.

No windows which was really disorienting and made waking up difficult. The room is pretty lackluster, having to duck to walk in and out of it added to the cave-like feeling. It was very difficult to check in, there was nobody working there when I got there to drop my bags then again when I came back after check in time. They really need to actually fix the door that leads to the courtyard, you have to slam it to get the latch to click.
Otherwise the location is good. Staff is friendly. The AC works really well.

I was very disappointed, I booked this location and they moved me outside the French Quarter to a cheaper hotel that made us have to walk twice the distance. Didn't compensate me in any way. Very disappointed
Safety: Just didn't feel the same security that you feel in the French Quarter. Just don't book with this Inn.
Walkability: Way farther that the place I booked. Very disappointed in the location they put us.

For the price I paid, this couldn't be beat. It's in the French quarter but in a quieter area. Checkin was quick and efficient. The rooms were fine and the wifi worked well. I could hear into the next room, and agreed with them that the shower water pressure wasn't that great.
Rooms: The room was nice. It was on the second floor which requires some stairs.
Walkability: The area around the hotel is very walkable. Realized how walkable downtown/French quarter of New Orleans are.

Old New Orleans charm. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic staff and very walkable to some great attractions!
Rooms: Unique and nostalgic
Nearby activities: A block from Bourbon St and Louis Armstrong Park. A few more blocks to Jackson Square and the French Market.
Walkability: Very walkable, bring comfortable shoes.
Food & drinks: Near some of the best food in the country. All different cuisines from around the world.

Great location right around the corner from Bourbon Street, while it's quiet. An old authentic house and courtyard. Clean room, bed linen, towels. we stayed for two nights, the room was cleaned and towels were changed. The room was in the courtyard on the 2nd floor, with very steep stairs to climb, especially with luggage. A very small room, somewhat reminiscent of a ship's cabin, is very cramped for two adults. The room is of course old and in need of renovation. The bathroom is made of some kind of stone. The floors are very cold. Very cold walls in the shower can't be leaned against. the shower is very cramped. There was no hot water in the faucet. The bed is not comfortable, the pillows are not comfortable. The only thing is if you sleep drunk after going to bars, then of course you don't notice all this.

Very typical French Quarter Inn. Basic, no frills, reliable accommodations. Small courtyard, great location, and coffee on site.Walkability: When staying in the French Quarter, walkability is EVERYTHING. This location is minutes from all the spots you'll want to see.

Our room reeked of cigarette smoke so badly I couldn’t sleep. When I complained to the person at the front desk he immediately had an attitude and told me “you’re probably smelling people smoking in the courtyard.” Completely unhelpful and rude. The bed was hard as a rock and my back hurt so much I had to buy lidocaine patches just to sleep. Our neighbor complained about back pain from the bed as well. The location is the only good thing about this spot.

Just be aware that there are no non-smoking rooms really. If someone smokes in the courtyard, your room is going to smell like a pool hall for a good long while. Makes it very hard to sleep. Too bad, otherwise the room was pretty nice, same for

I stayed here for my birthday January 2023. My room was very nice and clean. All the amenities were working (lights, heat, hot water). The staffs customer service was superior. The best customer service experience I ever had during a hotel stay. I felt very welcomed, the hospitality was wonderful and the staffs were consistently asking if there was anything they can assist me with. My stay was peaceful and quiet. It was a pleasure staying in such a historical hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a pleasant experience. To the one’s complaining, this building was built in the 1700’s.So don’t expect perfection. Be mindful, not ignorant. Thank you so much to each and one of your staffs. You’re amazing !

The place was close to Bourbon Street yet in a quiet location. The rooms, bathroom and the beds were clean. However the TV remote and the heater was not working in the first room; that has to happen during the record cold, grr.... I didnt sleep well that night because the room was freezing. The next morning they changed us to another room where the TV remote and the heater worked. However the water pressure was low in the shower. The room was also slanting towards the middle. It was nice of them to arrange parking for guests (for extra $), but parking was several blocks away. They had coffee maker with coffee bags etc but there was no power outlet by the coffee maker. Did anyone even test those things after they put in the coffee machine?By the way, who shows up drunk to work? The lady who checked us in was drunk.
