In a humble neighborhood off Louisiana Ave lies this charming little hole in the wall. It is not glamorous. It is not pretty, but I stumbled into it on accident as a stranger, and the staff made me feel like family as soon as I walked in. They shared their food and their stories with me, helped me find transportation to my destination, and treated me like I belonged. As a traveling photographer, I go to a lot of nice places, and this was not one of them, but the people there made me want to go back, and the Po' Boys there are absolutely to die for. Tell Sam that Joseph--the photographer kid from Mardi Gras--sent you. And try the Shrimp. I loved it.
