Had a great stay at this bed and breakfast in a large refinished old house. The place is beautiful, Bob and Michelle are wonderful hosts and it's hard to beat the location. Breakfasts were quite yummy -- shrimp and grits and pancakes with pecans and bacon was what was served when we stayed there. Hosts are very communicative and accommodating.
A couple of very minor things for general knowledge: We didn't see an iron in our room; probably could have got one had we asked/really needed it. So, ask if you need one.
A decent number of guestrooms are on the first floor and line a hallway leading to the dining room/common area. If people congregate in that area, you can pretty much hear their conversation in the closer rooms to the dining room. Of course, some people may appreciate this feature. And, we found the place quiet during normal night hours. It's not like this Inn is large enough to attract raucous young crowds for Mardis Gras or the weekends, which is also well-appreciated.
But, we did find complimentary earplugs in our room. We didn't use them (we be city folk ourselves), but for those bothered by either sounds coming from the dining room or Elysian Fields Ave, such an amenity was a nice touch.
Be sure to stick your head in the powder room on the first floor (pictured).
Would stay again and recommend.

Charming inn in the purest New Orleans style. Very well located for access on foot to the Vieux Carré and particularly to FrenchMen street.
Family welcome, homemade breakfast with specialties and fruits.
Warmly recommended
Rooms: Spacious, welcoming rooms with style. There is even a Victorian suite but we preferred the typical classic Louisiana rooms.
Nearby activities: Ideal location, especially during Mardi Gras festivities
Safety: Calm
100% secure
Walkability: 1 block from FrenchMen street (Vieux carre).
On bus lines 8 and 55
Food & drinks: Home made. A specialty per day, fruits, vegetables. It’s a change from the American hotel standard

Stayed here in November '23. The hosts are lovely, so welcoming and willing to share their vast knowledge. Felt very safe walking around, but made it back inside before eleven at night most nights. Great location and the parades start just a block away! Easy to catch the Red Tour bus line about half a block away. Priced well and well appointed rooms. The breakfasts are to die for!

We had an excellent stay at Elysian Fields Inn over the New Year's holiday. Michelle and Bob did a fantastic job hosting our group and accommodating our weirdness. The morning breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was always on. Our rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. Highest recommendation.Walkability: Elysian Fields Inn is a short walk to Frenchmen Street, and an easy walk to the Quarter. Grocery and pharmacy are right nearby and you have a ton of bar and restaurant options within walking distance. The area is safe and pretty quiet and easy to get to.

We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at Elysian Fields Inn. The inn is conveniently located just a couple of blocks from Frenchman Street, renowned as the best place to enjoy live music in the area. The surroundings are remarkably quiet, exceptionally clean, and incredibly comfortable. The common area is spacious and beautifully decorated, with a welcoming porch and a delightful pool that beckon guests to relax. Both the house and the rooms are tastefully adorned, creating a charming atmosphere. Our host, Michelle, contributed significantly to our wonderful stay. She not only prepared delicious breakfasts but also provided a wealth of useful information. Michelle was a pleasure to talk to, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our visit. Her restaurant and entertainment suggestions were spot on, and we largely followed them during our outings.A heartfelt thank you to Michelle and Bob for their outstanding hospitality. Our stay at Elysian Fields Inn was truly memorable, and we appreciate the warmth and care they extended to make our experience exceptional.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly bed and breakfast in a great location, the Elysian Fields Inn is a terrific option for NOLA. The Inn is positioned near the French Quarter, a short walk to highly rated restaurants such as Paladar 511, and to great jazz clubs such as Snug Harbor and the Spotted Cat. You’ll meet lots of friendly and interesting people at the Inn, as I did during my recent five-night stay. Hosts Michelle and Bob serve delicious breakfasts and bent over backwards to accommodate all dietary restrictions. They were also impressively flexible and accommodating to our varied travel schedules. The Inn itself has loads of old-world charm – high ceilings, chandeliers, and lovely furnishings – but also provides all modern conveniences (great water pressure and plentiful hot water, terrific climate control, and comfortable beds). There is a terrific bookstore/coffee shop (Baldwin and Company) just a block away, a Starbucks across the street, and a wonderful food court (St. Roch Market) and market (Robert’s) just around the corner.

Michelle and Bob were great hosts. Their beautiful B&B is in the Marigny neighborhood and is very walkable to all that is to be seen in the French Quarter and only steps from the food and music scene on Frenchman St. Awesome breakfasts were a great start to each day and homemade cookies were a delicious treat at the end of the night.

This B&B rates high on location, decor, breakfast menu, comfort, and hospitality! Our first floor room had a comfy bed, plenty of pillows, great water pressure in the shower, and just enough air conditioning to sleep well. Breakfasts were delicious and served in a sunny and spacious room. Michelle always had gluten-free alternatives for our friends. She made sure I had milk for my tea even in the evenings. Michelle and Bob gave us a great description of Mardi Gras week, which we've never experienced. We'll remember their advice, though, which sounded solid! The Inn is within blocks of two of the best music venues in NOLA: Snug Harbor and the Spotted Cat. There's a bus line toward the Quarter and Garden District just up the street and lots of space for Lyft to pick you up right outside the door. Elysian Fields Ave is a busy street and there are a couple bars nearby. Michelle provides ear plugs, but if you're really sensitive about noise...well, maybe any place in or near the French Quarter isn't for you.

Fabulous NOLA experience. We booked the whole inn for a big family birthday celebration. Michelle was wonderful helping us with logistics since we arrived at separate times. The house is spacious and has a great layout. Beds & linens are super comfy. It was a luxury not having to worry about coffee & breakfast in the morning – Michelle & Bob had it all set up for us. The shrimp & grits was a delicious highlight. The French Quarter is a gentle walk away through tree-lined streets. Hanging out on the veranda with an icy cold glass of wine, or playing poker on the refectory table, or cooling off in the pool – the inn hit every mark for a perfect venue. Our family wants to make this an annual trip and of course we would return to the Elysian Fields Inn. Thank you Michelle & Bob.

Great location within east walking distance to Frenchman Street and area. Very nice hosts; great breakfast; nice rooms and accommodations including front and back porch sitting areas. They even have a pool although being April we did not use it.

We have visited New Orleans many times but this was our first stay at the Elysian Fields Inn. We will definitely stay here the next time we’re in New Orleans! This Inn is beautiful, charming and comfortable. The location is ideal for exploring the French Quarter and only a couple of steps from all of the great music venues on Frenchman Street. Michelle and Bob are wonderful hosts, they make you feel at home in their home, and serve delicious breakfasts. We would give it 10 Stars if we could!

Couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay in New Orleans. Rooms were comfortable, the hosts went above and beyond to make your stay special. Food was outstanding. The location is perfect. Only a short walk to almost everything. This is our second time staying here. We come a few days prior to cruising out from here and it is close to the cruise port.

We just returned from 2 weeks at Elysian Fields Inn. We stayed in the suite room. This was our third visit to EFI and the first since Michelle and Bob have been the innkeepers. The short answer is “book it.” Here are a few more details. Bob and Michelle have made some terrific improvements to EFI. One is a refreshing pool and patio in back. After a long day of walking around NOLA a cool dip in the pool and a nap in the lounge chairs are essential preparation for a night of food and music on the town. We loved the new long communal table which encourages conversation among the worldwide guests. There are several 2 toppers if you prefer though. For us, the innkeepers make the inn and you can’t ask for any better than Michelle and Bob. They clearly love meeting new people, welcoming visitors to the city they chose, and exceeding all expectations. Their breakfasts are “not” continental, but full breakfasts with fresh fruit every day. In 2 weeks we had only one repeat. They are accommodating, too, for those who may be picky or have food restrictions. EFI is in a safe neighborhood. We walked home from the French Quarter every night. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the Quarter, Frenchman Street or the bustling neighborhoods of Marigny and Bywater. We go to New Orleans every year and typically drive there or use Uber/Lyft around town. This year we purchased an RTA pass and had a great time exploring. We used the street cars, buses and even the RTA ferry over to Algiers. (Check out Barracuda Mexican cafe.) EFI is conveniently located for public transportation and will be even better when they get the Rampart Street car line open again. Enjoy your visit to our favorite U.S. city and rest easy if you decide to stay at Elysian Fields Inn.
